Activities at Kingsland House Care Home

Kingsland House have a variety of activities that our residents help us choose. Celebrating Life in our home is jovial and fun and from our weekly delivered activity sheet, our residents can chose exactly what they want to join in with.

Our activities range from exercise classes, gardening, arts and crafts, games to food-fun clubs. We also offer our in house church services, our own home cinema, our mobile pub - The Kingsland Tavern, visiting Pat Dogs, musical entertainers, minibus outings, theme days and birthday celebrations. For those residents being nursed in their rooms we have one to one activities sessions.

At Kingsland House we believe that activities are hugely important to stimulate and uplift, and getting to know our residents interests and lifestyle choices assist our activities team in creating events and activities to suit their expressed wishes and capabilities. We also encourage our residents' families and friends to join in with as much as they can to make Kingsland House a loving family atmosphere.

Life at Kingsland House Care Home

Chocolate indulgence!

We all enjoyed celebrating chocolate cake day with delicious treats and a homemade cake topped with strawberries!

A trip to the Zoo!

This week we visited Melbourne Zoo, this may have been in a virtual way, but it was an enjoyable afternoon for all.

These types of activities are meaningful to residents, and provides social engagement.

Resident pamper time

One of the highlights of the week for the ladies at Kingsland House is being pampered, the ladies love to have their nails painted and showing them off, the assortment of colours is beautiful.

A gentle pastime

On a wet and cold January day what better activity than a traditional jigsaw!

Our BIG Kingsland Heart!

Residents have enjoyed changing their Christmas tree activities photograph display from a Christmas tree into the Kingsland Heart, this has proved to be a talking point in the lounge as it brings back lovely memories from through the year here at Kingsland House.

We have great plans for activities in 2021, from the gardening club where the residents have already planted bulbs for spring to celebrating special occasions such as residents birthdays and long service awards of our staff.

Movement to Music!

We all know the value of exercise and residents benefit from movement to music sessions with Sarah our Activities Coordinator.

Our varied activities programme allows us to provide stimulation of the mind, body and soul for residents in group activities, as well as one-to-one. We have also adapted ways to keep residents active, whilst ensuring that the group activities are smaller, adhering to current government social distancing advice
