Activities at Kenwyn Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jools Wyngaard
South African born Jools joined the team here at Kenwyn in March 2023 as Activities Coordinator after she decided to try life in the UK with her partner.
Jools' background is in Fundraising and Digital Marketing however after witnessing her Grandmother live with Dementia has since always wanted to work more closely with the aged and vulnerable and enrich the lives of residents.
In her spare time Jools loves her animals and misses her cats who are with her family in South Africa.

Carer Wins a Brand New Car!
A long-standing employee of Barchester has been rewarded with a brand new car for her participation in the company’s 2017 Employee Engagement Survey. Betty Verran, a Carer at Kenwyn, was presented with the keys to a Fiat 500 from Chief Executive, Pete Calveley, and Adrian Pancott, Chief Operating Officer.
Betty, originally from Truro, has been an employee of Barchester for the past 24 years, working evenings at Kenwyn since the official opening in 1993. Aged 70, Betty now works here alongside her daughter-in-law.
Barchester’s Employee Engagement Survey took place in November 2017, and was sent out to over 15,000 employees across all levels of the company to gather insight into what is important to staff and to measure and improve engagement.
Congratulations, Betty!
