Kenwyn Care Home
Kenwyn Care Home in Truro
Kenwyn is a purpose built care home in Truro with beautiful gardens, set within a quiet area of this bustling market city in Cornwall. We pride ourselves on providing excellent nursing and residential care for elderly people, people living with disabilities and for those living with dementia. Our aim is to ensure that all residents are happy and fulfilled throughout their stay at our nursing home, and that the welfare of each resident is at the forefront of what we do each day.
Dementia Care
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Our person-centred approach allows individuals to make their own choices and maintain their independence. Residents are invited and encouraged to join in with our daily activities, which include quizzes, gentle exercise, word games, art, visiting entertainers and much more. All of our delicious meals are prepared using fresh produce by our chefs, who ensure that individual nutritional requirements are met at every meal.
So – if you haven’t visited us before, or would like to visit again, please pop in for a cuppa and we will be delighted to show you around.

Nikki Culleton
Hi, my name is Nikki, and I am the general manager here at Kenwyn. Welcome to our website!
I am originally from Liverpool, and I qualified as an RGN in 1991 at Medway Hospital in Kent. After qualifying, I reached the role of ward sister on an acute cardiology medical ward, then married and worked within the military environment as a nurse practitioner.
I have continued to study throughout my career, obtaining several additional professional nursing qualifications.
In 2009 I made a career change, working as a deputy manager in a nursing home, and subsequently as a general manager for over 10 years.
I have moved to Cornwall and, with the assistance of my team, I am now responsible for the running of this beautiful care home.
Here at Kenwyn, were are passionate about providing safe & effective care within a supportive and friendly environment.
I have 1 daughter and a grandson who live in Brighton, and in my spare time, I following British ice hockey, supporting the Belfast Giants.
