Activities at Hunters Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall

Activities Coordinator

Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters.  I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity.  I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Recently, at Hunters, the residents on Memory Lane enjoyed gardening which got them all very excited for spring! They all planted colourful pansy's and sweet pea seeds to brighten up the garden.

Hunters Celebrates Pancake Day

Hunters Celebrates Pancake Day

Hunters celebrated Pancake Day the good old fashioned way with a pancake tossing competition! After all that exertion the residents enjoyed a pancake with the filling of their choice ranging from lemon and sugar to fresh strawberries, blueberries and ice cream!

Bird Feeders

Bird Feeders

This week on Memory Lane the residents from Hunters spent time making bird feeders to help their feathered friends through the winter months. Afterwards they were hung outside of the window and the residents enjoyed watching the hungry birds coming in to feed.

Ukulele Music at Hunters

Ukulele Music at Hunters

This week the residents at Hunters enjoyed Ukulele music from an entertainer new to the home, George Reformby. George entertained us with a medley of old time hits and spent time chatting to the residents afterwards over a cup of tea, everyone agreed that George should be invited back.
