Jessa Avila

General Manager

Hi, my name is Jessa, and I am the General Manager here at White Lodge. Welcome to our website!

I am a licensed nurse, originally from the Philippines, with an unsurpassed track record in home care experience, both clinical and management. I qualified in the UK in 2013 and achieved my first management post in 2016. Throughout the years, I have worked in different healthcare environments, where I developed a passion for palliative care and supporting people with dementia.

My dedication to excellence has earned me loyalty from residents and outstanding merits from my colleagues. My goal is to be a part of your or a loved one's new journey in life. I commit to making residents feel loved, cared for and safe at White Lodge.

Tilly Mwakatuma

Unit Lead - Memory Lane

I have worked with Barchester for ten years, but have only been at White Lodge since April 2016, where I was promoted to the Unit Lead for Memory Lane. I find it very rewarding working in Memory Lane with people who have different types of dementia and supporting their families. I feel very honoured to be part of a supportive team, as we all know that it can be very stressful at times but also very rewarding. I do encourage my team to be as supportive and understanding as possible towards the residents families due to the fact there are many emotional factors which play a massive part of this element.

Muriel McLean

Resident Ambassador

I  lived in Australia for 25 years, but moved to White Lodge to be closer to my family.

I have written and still write stories for children about animals – some were even printed for charities and hospitals. I also enjoy making jewellery and sewing.

I like to support people and listen and chat with people to make them feel welcome and wanted. I love being the Resident Ambassador here at White Lodge.

Kim Tarling

Administrator

I have worked as an administrator in the care sector since 2003. I worked my way up to a Senior Administrator and I would travel around the South of England completing audits, training and supporting other administrators in their homes.

I enjoy working with my team and having the help and support that I need. I love meeting residents and their loved ones and building friendships with them.

I am proud of what I have achieved in my work and the progress that I have made over the year, and I am even prouder of my little boy.

Tina Hughes

Activities Coordinator

I have previously worked for Barchester at White Lodge in 2008 for over 6 years as part of the activities team, which I thoroughly enjoyed, so I have now decided to return to my role after missing it greatly.

I enjoy my job and it's lovely to see residents happy, laughing and enjoying themselves; it makes me feel like I’m really making a difference whilst being here.

Vicky Sheppard

Admin Assistant

I have worked for Barchester for over 10 years now. I started as a Care Assistant, worked as part of the housekeeping team, then I moved from White Lodge to Hunters, our sister home in Cirencester, as a Receptionist/Activities Assistant, eventually progressing to Admin Assistant, then Administrator.

I moved back to White lodge in November 2017 as an Administrator, which was a proud moment. In October 2018, I decided to take the opportunity to return to the role of Admin Assistant/Receptionist, where I can be more hands-on with residents and their loved ones.
