"Mum has just moved into White Lodge after living alone for the past 4.5 years. She has settled very well and has enjoyed engaging with all the activities on offer. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and encourage residents to participate. Mum loves the food and we are so pleased she has come out of her shell and returned to hobbies she had given up."

"I very much enjoyed my stay. All staff were very helpful and provided a very good service. It was like staying in a five-star hotel, only better, sleeping in a very comfortable, fully adjustable bed with a fan provided by your very helpful maintenance team. The first room I was on a pre-stay visit had a nice view and bathroom, nice armchair and seat. I have not rated activities because I did not take part."

"Our mum was a resident in White Lodge for the final few weeks of her long life. During this time, she received exemplary nursing care and outstanding levels of attention from the nursing staff. The facilities at the home are first-rate, and the home is set in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Mum could not have had a more peaceful and caring environment for her final days."

"Generally the care and attention provided to my brother, he needs more encouragement to move out of bed and to be more mobile to maintain good health. "Mum has been staying at White Lodge for 6 months now following an initial 2-week respite stay. She arrived in a bit of a sorry state, recently widowed and suffering from dementia and really not enjoying life. She has been really well looked after, met new friends and is loving life again. "When it comes to the time when you have to put your loved one into full-time care it can be very upsetting and stressful. I can not speak highly enough for White Lodge, my mother-in-law has been a resident since January 2023. Everyone has gone over and above the help her settle, care for and involve her. The nurse staff are so caring and professional that she is thriving with all the excellent care she is having. The activity staff are so kind offering a fantastic opportunity for all the residents to join in with the fun things they do, she really looks forward to activity days. The maintenance team are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble to make her room look like home. The housekeeping team do a fantastic job, White Lodge is very clean in all areas we are so impressed. The catering staff produce delicious meals and are very accommodating to fussy eaters. She has a beautiful room on the ground floor overlooking the lake, it’s so peaceful, as a family we feel so lucky we found White Lodge."

"My husband has been a resident of White Lodge Care Home since January of this year. He has at all times been treated with dignity and respect, supporting us both in what has been such a difficult decision for him to leave our home. All staff without exception appear to love their work, this shows in the permanent smiles on their faces. Nothing is too much trouble. (Yesterday 8th of May) we celebrated the King's Coronation at a bbq, an enormous success for the activities team and all staff."

"My mum is 93 years old, she had been living in her own home for the past 58 years, she had been living independently and on her own for the past 15 years after the passing of my late father. After a short period of illness and hospitalisation, we agreed residential care was the best option for Mum. We highly recommend White Lodge Care Home. The management and staff have provided my mum with first-class residential care from her first day's assessments right through to the present day. Mum is super happy there and now considers it her forever home. The staff at White Lodge put 'care' first in everything they do. Mum speaks highly of everyone there, without exception. The management team listen first and always acts quickly to requests from Mum and our family. We couldn't ask or expect for a better-managed or responsive team. At White Lodge, there are no 'heirs and grace'. What you see is what you get. The decor is sympathetic yet comfortable. White Lodge offers good value with excellent care!"

When I visited her, she was relaxed and happy just as other residents appeared to be. The full programme of activities kept her stimulated, so important for people with dementia. Knowing my wife was happy and well cared for enabled me to take a much-needed break."

"My mother lived in White Lodge for two and a half years. During that time she was beautifully looked after. The care and nursing she increasingly required was unfailingly professional and caring, with the staff always personable, respectful and compassionate. She was treated with such dignity. They clearly became very fond of her. There was always a nurse on duty. I was given regular briefings on her health and was always phoned if there were any issues. The staff were well supported by a good local GP practice. It was a lovely environment for her as it had such a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is a well-appointed place and the food is excellent. It is managed very well. My mother had a lovely, large ensuite room with a charming view over gardens and a lake. I was able to visit whenever I wanted. I thoroughly recommend it. It was - literally- the perfect place for my mother."

"Since my sister has been with you (July 2022), she has had exemplary care from everyone on Treetops Ward. Although she has a rare form of dementia the staff are well trained and understand the different types of dementia. Her birthday in January was lovely with banners, balloons and cake. Her nails had been painted and lipstick was in place. Thank you all so much for taking such wonderful care of her and making it easier for her family to leave her with you. One staff member, in particular, is so good with her and always cheerful."

"My parents were both quite ill when they arrived at the care home. My mother was bedbound during her short stay before she eventually passed away but the care she received during that period could not be faulted and the staff were extremely proficient and treated her with dignity at all times. My father was not bedbound throughout this period and was able to look after himself with very appropriate support from all the staff. He was well fed and made to feel as comfortable as possible with the configuration of the rooms optimised to suit the circumstances. The ability of my wife and I to visit as frequently as possible and stay over when needed is something we were extremely grateful for and certainly helped my father deal with the difficult situation. I can only express how grateful we were to all the staff."

"I just had to write to say that Barchester White Lodge Care Home is an amazing home - my mum has been there since July 2022 - although she is very poorly with dementia, staff at the home treat her with the utmost respect and kindness. Last week on Valentine's Day I attended an afternoon tea - there were red balloons, roses, cakes, music and so much more. The atmosphere was amazing and although my mum cannot communicate anymore - she was holding my hand tightly and moving to the music. I was so impressed with the whole event and the home - that I have now offered to volunteer. I really can sleep at night knowing that my mum is in very safe hands."

"Although my father-in-law had a short stay here we were always dealt with in a caring and compassionate manner. They were accommodating with his room to allow access for my husband's wheelchair whilst visiting. Very clean and welcoming with a beautiful view of the lake which was perfect as he always enjoyed fishing and the outdoors in his earlier years."

"Both my parents are in White Lodge. From management, carers, nursing staff, housekeeping, maintenance staff and cleaners to catering, reception and activities staff, all are polite, efficient and caring. My father was resident of the week and although in bed, I have been asked if there is anything the staff could do to help him feel better. Staff always ask after visitor's health and take an interest in the family as well as residents. Even residents will chat as you pass through the lounges and you can tell they are happy and well cared for. My parents are very happy there. Even though my father gets a bit confused sometimes, he says, quote: 'they look after me well here'. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff to make their residents happy and comfortable. I would recommend White Lodge to anyone who is looking for a well-run, comfortable and happy home for any relatives or friends."

"My dad has been at the home for about five months now. We are very happy with the care he is receiving. The home is obviously managed very well and the care staff are great! He had his 80th birthday party there recently and it went really well. Staff helped organise, the food was very good and a lovely room was used. The only criticism I have is the dementia ward/memory lane could do with a bit of a makeover/decorate."

"Mum and Dad came into White Lodge on the 11th Match. They have both been very happy. The food is excellent. Staff are kind, considerate and attentive. We all celebrated Mum and Dad's 75th wedding anniversary in the garden. Residents, friends, family and staff were all invited. A fabulous day. A huge thank you to all the staff who took over organising it for the family. We can't thank you enough."

"My wife was terminally ill when she was placed in White Lodge at the behest of social services. It was a sound decision and during my wife's time at White Lodge, she has given exemplary care. A feature of White Lodge is the 'can do' attitude of the staff at all levels and their sense of urgency. White Lodge exudes a warm atmosphere that is the product of the empathy the staff have with their patients. I am very grateful for the manner of its care for my wife at the end of her life. White Lodge is very well managed!"

"The staff were all very kind. polite and helpful. They responded positively to requests. All the staff worked extremely hard to give each resident a happy experience. 'Call' buttons were answered immediately. Nurses were knowledgeable and professional in their duties. I felt that residents could have been encouraged to sit outside in the beautiful grounds. Wheelchair users could have benefitted from having volunteers to wheel them outside. The food was of a good standard and portions were adequate."

"Throughout her stay at Barchester White Lodge Care Home my mother was treated with dignity, respect and kindness. I was always kept informed of her condition and was invited into the home to meet her GP on one of his regular visits. Whenever I had contact with the nursing or caring team they were always helpful, courteous and polite, the same can be said of the reception staff. The grounds of the home are very well kept and the interior was always clean and tidy. Her room was spacious and well-appointed. The management of the home have set the highest standards of professionalism and go out of their way to get to know their residents as well as relatives."

"I cannot praise the staff and facilities at White Lodge highly enough in what has been an extremely difficult period of time, both my mother and father-in-law through circumstances took residence at White Lodge just prior to the pandemic and as a result, visiting was initially very limited. Both were welcomed and cared for by an extremely caring team and soon settled in. Sadly my father-in-law has since passed during which time the compassion and support given by all staff members to our immediate family was of an extremely high standard which undoubtedly helped at a very sad time for us all. My mother-in-law remains a resident at White Lodge and is very happy and well cared for with all care provided by a willing, caring team always with a smile, in particular the activities coordinator who not only ensures residents are invited to join in with several activities provided to suit all levels of ability makes a point of taking time to talk to residents and family members during visiting times."

"My grandmother is very happy here. The staff all seem lovely, and there are a wide variety of activities for her to take part in, and she always seems to have a lot to say about what she's been up to. The staff/care home have been very accommodating and brilliant at helping to arrange visits despite Covid. The rooms are lovely with a nice view over the lakes. We're looking forward to sunny visits in the summer sitting on the outside veranda!"

"Our experience of White Lodge has been great; despite lockdown and Covid, we have been able to see Mum. The introduction of bedroom visits has been wonderful for Mum just to have that extra contact. "I looked at numerous homes before we decided on White Lodge. The accommodation including the ensuite bedroom is to a very high standard with beautiful views over the gardens. The gardens are extensive and beautifully kept and allow for some lovely outdoor walks. The food looks excellent most importantly the staff are caring and dedicated. The range of activities provided for the residents is fantastic. The manager is very supportive. Mum looks well and happy and speaks highly of the staff. I am happy to recommend."

"My mum-in-law moved to White Lodge in August 2020. Obviously, there was a concern about the impact of covid-19, but we needn't have worried. The care she has received has been exceptional. Physically, she has improved markedly. When asked her opinion on White Lodge, she replied 'perfect'. "I am unable to comment on a lot of the care issues as I have not been able to visit indoors since the day we left my mother-in-law as a resident. What I have seen of the staff indicates they are very helpful and caring, especially when my mother-in-law gets upset. The new manager has been especially helpful to me regarding some financial issues which I raised and I can't thank her enough for sorting them out. My mother-in-law tells me they take good care of her and she has lots to eat."

It is obviously a difficult time for staff, residents and relatives, coping with the changed circumstances demanded by the Covid-19 situation and, whilst I miss visiting my Mum, it is a great reassurance to know she is being so well cared for at all times. When I call to speak to Mum, the staff are always polite and helpful and it seems like nothing is too much trouble. Mum also says she has everything she needs and is well looked after, which is nice to hear. I would like to record my sincere appreciation to everyone concerned with her care and the running of White Lodge - it is a very difficult job that all undertake but one that is valued very highly by me."

"My Aunt had to be moved to a nursing home from a care home and in a really short period of time, this was undertaken with minimal distress to her. I was dreading the move but it was quickly and professionally done and my aunt settled in amazingly well and is very content in her lovely room. "We chose White Lodge for my aunt's needs for several reasons... as a lifetime outdoor girl she could appreciate the beautiful countryside setting and certainly on the ground floor the inside/decor is very nice, it has several lounges allowing her to either socialise with other residents or have some quiet time without being in her room all the time. The ground floor layout allows for a decent circular walk in the safety of the home and there are plenty of residents she could interact with. What you can't so easily tell beforehand is how good the care will be, but her care has been extremely good, her care assistants are amazing, but it's unfair to single them out. All staff are kind, patient and caring, housekeeping, the nurses and activities team are great and our interactions with every member of the White Lodge team has been very positive, communication from all levels is excellent. Our thanks to all at White Lodge for helping to improve my aunt's quality of life, we as a family really appreciate it."

"From starting from the initial home visit by the manager, all the staff have been very welcoming since mum has moved here. The weekly activity sheet is varied and adds structure to mums day. Mum has been on 2 canal trips and a trip to Royal Wootton Bassett. The hairdresser is an added bonus too. The care home is on par with a 5* hotel and has exceeded mine and the extended family’s expectation. The staff all treat mum with courteous, polite and empathetic care at all times and all her needs both physically and mentally are met. I highly recommend the Whitelodge Care Home and the excellent team that all add that little bit extra to mums world now."

"I was invited by a friend to come to White Lodge Care Home to see Chloe’s Mobile Farm. It was amazing! The resident I came to visit had the best time and the women who brought the animals along were so friendly. I brought my daughter, who’s only two, along and she was welcomed with open arms. There were chicks, ducklings, rabbits, guinea pigs and even lambs! I can honestly say, I have never witnessed such care and compassion from the staff. The staff were so organised and the residents had the best time. All residents held animals, stroked, cuddled and had such a laugh. I would recommend anyone looking for care for any family, friends or relatives to visit and experience White Lodge. It is out of this world!"

"My mother was a very independent-minded lady. Living in a care home was not part of her plan, "Over my dead body" was the phrase most often used whenever anyone suggested it. However, her increasing infirmity and blindness meant she had to eventually accept the inevitable. It was with great relief that we managed to persuade her to come and stay at White Lodge, initially as respite but very soon after as a resident. Throughout her time there, every one of the staff did their best to make her feel welcome, be part of a big family of residents and ensure her comfort and safety. As time went by and she became less mobile, it fell to your staff to be even more attentive to her needs and they did not fail her. We are extremely grateful to all of those who took on this responsibility and helped my mum to continue to enjoy a great quality of life with dignity in your care. The professionalism, respect and personal interest that White Lodge staff showed towards my mum to the end were exemplary and their kindness towards her, especially in difficult times, will always be remembered by us with enormous gratitude."

"My wife moved into the care home on the 1st December 2016 for a trial 4 weeks. She settled well and became a permanent patient. The nursing staff are very caring and there are enough nurses and carers to be able to keep an eye on her. The activities are well organised and good fun. Visitors can attend and take part. The home has beautiful surroundings so summer months will allow outside visits in the garden."

"My mum has been at Barchester White Lodge Care Home for one year now. It was a difficult decision to make, but Barchester White Lodge Care Home has made the experience as easy as it could be. Mum is very happy and well looked after and that's all we can really ask. If anything, I think her quality of life has improved. Any little problems or concerns we've had, I've shared with staff or managers and they have always helped resolve them and are happy to help. All in all were really happy and have recommended the home to others."

"I find White Lodge a very nice, friendly home. The staff here are very nice caring people and they always try to be helpful to my husband and are patient with him when sometimes he can be difficult. He has a nice room with a lovely view and the grounds are lovely to walk around in the summer. I feel I can visit him at any time and am always made welcome by the staff. Overall my husband is in good hands here."

"White Lodge used to be the best care home in the locality. Unfortunately, over the last 2-3 years, the quality of care and the activities have deteriorated largely due to recruitment problems. Most of the staff are excellent as individuals but they are too thinly spread. On occasions, we have found our aunt in the same clothes for 2-3 days. We are not entirely happy and the high cost is not justified by high quality, as it was before. However moving our aunt would be disruptive, so we will watch and wait for now."

"White Lodge is warm and welcoming. The rooms are bright and clean. There are several communal areas on each floor which are regularly used to host the variety of activities that are organised thoughtfully and expertly by the activities team to cater for the needs and personalities of the different residents. They enhance life at White Lodge and highlight White Lodge as excellent. In my experience, the care team are kind and friendly and treat residents with courtesy and dignity. The housekeeping team work hard and do a good job keeping everywhere clean and fresh and I am impressed that clothes are laundered and returned promptly. The catering team are hardworking and produce wonderful food."

"As a retired Professor of Psychology, I can only remark that this care home has provided first class care for my mother since she arrived. This really is a home from home where not only has my mother been made welcome but also the rest of the family. The whole ethos of the home is to support the family and they do this well. The home should be a benchmark for those aspiring to provide quality care. Don't rely upon inaccurate CQC reports!"

"We moved my mother-in-law from her previous care home to White Lodge because we were extremely dissatisfied with the standard of care. In contast, over the past 9 months, our experience at White Lodge has been the exact opposite. Within days of arriving her health, mental state and wellbeing was markedly improved. The care staff are first class, they are attentive, caring and very friendly. The nursing team are thoroughly professional, the management team is properly focused and is well supported by efficient domestic, front of house, admin and catering staff, The food is excellent. The home should be a benchmark for those aspiring to provide quality care."

"On arrival the staff were welcoming, the room prepared and my husband settled quickly. He is comfortable here because the carers and nurses are familiar and that gives him an added sense of security. The meals are varied and he enjoys the curries which are one of the specialities of the chef."

We would like to thank you and the team in Memory Lane for making Dad’s Birthday so special. We both finished work early and arrived down at 18:00 yesterday evening where your Team gave Dad a cake and all made the effort to come in and sing along “Happy Birthday” which he really seemed to enjoy.

It was also nice as we managed to take Dad out for a walk around the grounds which for all of us was something we could only think about a few months ago. We also played tap the balloon with Dad which had him laughing and really made it a special visit.

Thank you to Elizabeth and the team on memory lane.......those visits will always stay with us.

Could i please as you to pass on my heartfelt thanks to all members of staff who cared for my Mum during her time at White Lodge.

I chose White Lodge after visiting several other care homes whilst seeking a place for Mum, and my initial impression was that White Lodge was far superior in terms of friendliness, facilities, cleanliness and the standards of care. 

Over the period of Mum's stay that impression was wholly confirmed and I felt entirely reassured she was benefiting from the best possible attention in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Mum regularly referred to White Lodge as home and clearly felt at ease with you.

Although it is invidious to single out any one person, when all of your team have been so supportive and conscientious, I would particularly like to mention Tina, whose constant cheerfulness did so much to keep Mum's spirits high.
