Activities at Hunters Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Ben Sandall
Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters. I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity. I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Life at Hunters Care Home
Hunters' Garden Party
Residents at Hunters enjoyed a right royal afternoon with a garden party in honour of the Queen's official birthday. There was music from Bill Eteson, Pimm's and lemonade served with cupcakes that were patriotically decorated with red, white and blue icing.
Arts & Crafts at Hunters
During arts and crafts sessions, residents have been busy making decorations and bunting for our upcoming garden party, which will be on the 9th June and, in honour of the Queen's official birthday, there will be live music, patriotically decorated cupcakes and a glass or two of Pimm's. Relatives and friends are welcome, so please come and join us for a fun afternoon, starting at 2.30pm.
International Nurses' Day at Hunters
Hunters recently celebrated International Nurses' Day. The photo shows Deputy Manager, Ruth Holness, with the nurses on duty, raising their travel mug gifts to celebrate their hard work and commitment.
Hunters Finds Some Prey
Walks With Hawks made a welcome return to Hunters today, with their ever-popular Birds of Prey display. The residents were able to get up close to the birds whilst enjoying an informative talk on the subject.
Hunters' Country Singer
This week at Hunters, we welcomed Andy Yapp to entertain our residents on General and Memory Lane.
Andy sang an acoustic session of country and traditional folk songs. Everyone was able to join in to sing and dance, with Andy staying behind afterwards for a cup of tea and a chat with the residents.
DIY Bird Boxes
In recent arts and crafts sessions, the residents here at Hunters have built and painted their own bird boxes. Some of the residents decided to give the finished boxes away to family members as gifts.
