Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.

Caroline Evans

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.

I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.

I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Four-Legged Friends

On 3rd October, we had a lovely visit from Sarah and her mini donkeys. The day was a great success, as the donkeys were very well behaved and residents were able to interact with them, both inside and outside, thanks to the weather also holding out for us.

We were very lucky to be able to have Sarah and her volunteer come in to show off the donkeys and tell us some delightful stories about their lives and daily activities. Seeing donkey’s walking through the lounge was a very surreal experience for all, but residents were ecstatic with joy, hearing their tiny hooves on the floors and being able to stroke their newly-developed, fluffy winter coats.

It was truly an amazing experience and a memorable day at Hethersett Hall. Hopefully our four-legged friends will return again soon.

A very special 'Track Day'

Resident and true gentlemen, Alan Thomson, was recently treated to a Track Day experience by his Daughter, Jane and her Husband, Keith, who regularly visit Alan and his Wife, Audrey, who both live here with us at Hethersett Hall. Jane and Keith are like extended family of the home.

Alan was voluntarily accompanied by our staff member Philip, who was probably just as excited as Alan to be given the VIP treatment, including two free buffet lunches in the Aston Martin marquee. They were also taken into the pits with the drivers.

You’ll  see a picture of them both admiring a brand new Aston Martin, the engine had just been started up for their benefit.

Daughter Jane said “I nearly jumped out of my skin! They both loved it”

The chairman of the Aston Martin club personally came down to meet and greet Alan.

Alan has always been an avid lover of cars since his school days, from the making of them, the driving of them and down to the very smell of the Castrol oil. Alan used to drive large vehicles for the Military, in his younger years. He also enjoyed making a lot of model cars too during his more senior years in life and keeps a small collection with him in his room here.

Daughter Jane said “We had the best day.  We have lots more photos. Philip was an absolute star and had a great time!”
