Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.

Caroline Evans

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.

I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.

I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Life at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Notcutts Garden Centre

Notcutts Garden Centre

The residents of Hethersett Hall took a trip out to the local garden centre earlier this week. We enjoyed some tea and delicious cakes in Notcutts lovely café. Afterwards, we had a look around, admiring all the flowers and the little pet shop – with lots of fluffy pets! Staff and residents had a lovely morning and the sunshine was an added bonus!

Garden Party

Residents have been out in the garden in this lovely weather planting our new raised flower beds with plants and flowers that they picked out during a trip out to the garden centre. We are so lucky to have such beautiful grounds here at Hethersett Hall, and residents all love to get out in the garden when the weather permits it.

,

Summer Fête

Everyone had a lovely day at our Summer Fête this year. The weather was lovely and everyone was in great spirits as we all got together to have fun and raise money for the residents' fund.

Our guests indulged in some cream and hog roast whilst taking part in some of our games, and we managed to raise an amazing £340!

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make the event such a huge success.

Art Therapy

Art Therapy

Every other Monday, our Garden House unit has a visit from Foteini, who is an artist from Creative Mojo, a company that specialises in art therapy. These sessions help promote group discussions about themes and colours, as well as bringing residents out of their shells and letting them be as creative as possible. We now have lots of colourful masterpieces displayed around the unit, bringing even more life and colour to the home.

Vintage Car Visit

Vintage Car Visit

We had a visit from an Austin A30. One resident, Alan, who is a huge car enthusiast, celebrated his 97th birthday recently, so we thought we would do something a bit different for him. He thoroughly enjoyed learning all about the car from its owner, and swapping stories about his previous vehicles.

,

School Visit

On the 18th June, residents were visited by the year one and two students of Hethersett Old Hall School. The children treated the residents to songs that they had been practicing for the ‘big sing’. The residents thoroughly enjoyed having a chat with the children, talking about what it was like for them when they were at school and what the children would like to do when they grow up.

Everyone had a lovely time and are looking forward to the next time they can enjoy each other’s company.
