Activities at Henford House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in, as well as visits from PAT dogs, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our cheese & wine nights, pub evening, quiz nights and special occasions such as, Guy Fawkes, Easter and Christmas where we like to encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Henford House is fun and active.

I joined Henford House in March 2014; after five and a half years of domiciliary care, this position became available at Henford and I decided that it would be great to do more of the fun things in life with residents! It is great here at the home; we get along so well and truly have some laughs. Residents have a wide range of activities to participate in each week, including armchair exercises, bingo sessions, singalongs, musical entertainment, pottery, manicures, celebrations and much more. It is very rewarding knowing that people are grateful for the work I've done when I go. Working here has also given me the opportunity to gain my Level 2 NAPA certificate.

Valentines Day at Henford House
The residents enjoyed getting together and celebrating Valentines Day. They all got in the spirit and shared the love!
St David's Day
Residents from Henford House enjoyed home made Welsh Cakes for St David's Day!
Burns Night at Henford House
The residents from Henford House celebrated Burns Night with Haggis created by Chef Julie-Anne, and a Piper piped around the home for all the residents!
Karaoke at Henford House
Residents at Henford getting with it, singing karaoke with Steve at Lyrics on Screen. Steve is new to Henford but will now be joining us on a monthly basis.
Fun, Frolics and S.M.I.L.E.S at Henford
Staff and Residents have been getting in to the festive spirit with costumes, live entertainment and having their carol service, Christmas buffet and raffle.
The chosen charity for this years Christmas raffle proceeds went to Louie's S.M.I.L.E.S. Founders of the charity Lance Coldwell, Jo Lloyd and also parents of Louie joined staff and residents for their carol service.
Founder Jo said ' We felt privileged to attend Henford House for their Christmas carol service and to draw the raffle, we were absolutely overjoyed when we were told they had chosen Louie's S.M.I.L.E.S as their chosen charity, it was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. We would like to thank all the staff and residents for their hospitality and for their extremely generous donations which will all go towards buying gifts for children in local children's wards this Christmas. It was a fantastic evening, thank you very much and may we take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
