Activities at Harper Fields Care Home

There is always something to do here at Harper Fields and always someone to assist the residents in any activity they wish to take part in. We have entertainers come into the home to sing and play instruments on a weekly basis, as well as visits from PAT dogs, hairdressers, massage therapists and nail technicians to pamper those who live here. Residents' spiritual needs are taken into account at Harper Fields; we have regular services from the Catholic and Methodist church, in addition to the Church of England, and for our non-religious residents, we have a weekly calming and peaceful ‘mindfulness and meditation group,’ which is very popular, especially for those living with dementia. Residents often like to attend cinema evenings to watch their favourite films on the big screen (complete with sweets and popcorn), or develop new skills at our computer classes, where they can learn how to Skype their families in other countries. Our activities are tailored to suit the individual interests and capabilities of residents and our specialised equipment enables those we support to enjoy everything we have to offer.

Jubilee Celebrations

We had a lovely time, there was a 100 person marquee over the 3 days of celebrations, we had an afternoon tea and 16 piece band. We then had a three course meal and harpist.

Dog Therapy

The residents smile with joy when General Manager, Hayley, brings her puppy Max to visit. They are so excited for Max to become registered with the PAT scheme so he can visit even more frequently!

Congratulations to Team GB!

After watching the ladies Curling Team win gold at the Olympics this morning, Harper Fields residents wanted to see if they could do any better...We celebrated our win, not with gold medals but with delicious tasty donuts!

Valentines Donation from Co-Op

Harper Fields residents are so lucky to have a local co-op store that regularly donate to us. There was no exception when we received a wonderful amount of flowers for Valentine's Day. The residents decided to press, laminate and frame their wonderful creations. Thank you Co-Op!
