Activities at Harper Fields Care Home

There is always something to do here at Harper Fields and always someone to assist the residents in any activity they wish to take part in. We have entertainers come into the home to sing and play instruments on a weekly basis, as well as visits from PAT dogs, hairdressers, massage therapists and nail technicians to pamper those who live here. Residents' spiritual needs are taken into account at Harper Fields; we have regular services from the Catholic and Methodist church, in addition to the Church of England, and for our non-religious residents, we have a weekly calming and peaceful ‘mindfulness and meditation group,’ which is very popular, especially for those living with dementia. Residents often like to attend cinema evenings to watch their favourite films on the big screen (complete with sweets and popcorn), or develop new skills at our computer classes, where they can learn how to Skype their families in other countries. Our activities are tailored to suit the individual interests and capabilities of residents and our specialised equipment enables those we support to enjoy everything we have to offer.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Macmillan coffee morning was in full swing, with delicious cakes and warm drinks.  Thank you to everyone who came and donated for this wonderful charity, we are proud to support Macmillan Cancer.

We were 'Bewitched' with our New Local Coffee Shop!

Visit to new ‘Bewiched’ coffee shop in The village.  We tasted a delicious selection of coffees as well as hot chocolates with cream. They were so warm & welcoming, we felt right at home.  Jean said ‘can we come every week’ and Sylvia said 'heaven in a cup’

Melbicks Garden Centre

We wanted some Winter plants for our balconies to keep them looking stunning. So our residents chose to visit Melbicks garden & Aquatic centre. We had a glorious day & spent lots of pennies!

Lovely Trip to Spencer's Retreat

We were given tubs of food for all the animals, we were able to pet & feed them all.  We picked our own vegetables from their fruit & veg gardens. Thank you to carer Eliete & volunteer driver Stuart for helping to make the day so enjoyable.

Pet Therapy with Minnie & Ellie

Minnie & Ellie adored being cuddled by our residents.  One of our volunteer's Jay Tidmarsh brought his dogs in for some pet therapy. All day long you could here sounds of “Oh how cute are they, can I stroke them & don’t they look beautiful. Come back soon Minnie & Ellie.
