Activities at Harper Fields Care Home

There is always something to do here at Harper Fields and always someone to assist the residents in any activity they wish to take part in. We have entertainers come into the home to sing and play instruments on a weekly basis, as well as visits from PAT dogs, hairdressers, massage therapists and nail technicians to pamper those who live here. Residents' spiritual needs are taken into account at Harper Fields; we have regular services from the Catholic and Methodist church, in addition to the Church of England, and for our non-religious residents, we have a weekly calming and peaceful ‘mindfulness and meditation group,’ which is very popular, especially for those living with dementia. Residents often like to attend cinema evenings to watch their favourite films on the big screen (complete with sweets and popcorn), or develop new skills at our computer classes, where they can learn how to Skype their families in other countries. Our activities are tailored to suit the individual interests and capabilities of residents and our specialised equipment enables those we support to enjoy everything we have to offer.

Life at Harper Fields Care Home

Burns celebrations

We do love a celebration at Harper fields!  Singing, dancing, clapping & even trying to play the bagpipes to the voice of The very talented ‘Debbie Miles’

Mindful meditation & Reiki healing

At Harper fields we are so lucky to have Emma, our very own Reiki therapist. Emma delivers Reiki & crystal healing every week in our Namaste room and to residents who wish to remain in their rooms.

Creative Mojo

Pat is one of our residential residents and loves being able to bring out her newly acquired artistic talents. Pat never thought she was any good at ‘Arts & crafts’ until she came to Harper fields. Creative Mojo’ art therapy group hold a monthly masterclass at Harper fields so our residents can have an all inclusive craft experience.

A trip to our local coffee shop

Harper fields residents enjoyed a mini bus trip to our local coffee shop at ‘Oakes farm’  Memory lane resident Sylvia enjoyed a delicious Milky hot chocolate with lots of squirty cream and sprinkled with chocolate crumbs. We felt so warm and cosy on this cold, frosty January day. “It’s such a delight being able to go out on our very own mini bus” said another resident from our Warwick nursing community.

Royal Parks London

Across our services our residents have enjoyed a wonderful live virtual talk about starlings, one of the UK’s most gregarious birds, hosted by Rachel Dowse from The Royal Parks London.

Rachel examined our long history with this bird and the importance of common species to our lives. Our residents had the opportunity to find out more about the great murmuration and why we need to pay special attention to these beauties before it's too late.

The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.
