Activities at Field House Care Home

The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.

Caroline Davis

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.

Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.

In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

Barchester Care Awards

We’ve had a great day gathered around the TV watching Barchester’s annual Care Awards. With balloons, banners, party poppers and of course a glass of bubbles, we’ve celebrated in style! A big congratulations to all of the awards winners, but an extra big special congratulations to our amazing Tanya! Tanya won Divisional Carer of the Year and we are all so proud of her!

Potting Plants

Here at Field House, we find nothing more therapeutic than a bit of planting. We had such a wonderful afternoon planting and arranging some lovely potted plants to go around our home. We are all looking forward to watching them grow and thrive. Brenda couldn’t wait to take her plant to her room to enjoy.

Church Stretton Community Games

Here at Field House we have launched a community project encouraging local community residents to come along and join in with some group game sessions. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and maybe make some new friends. We run 2 sessions each month, the first Thursday of each month at 6:00pm and the third Tuesday of each month at 11:00am. Come along and join the fun!

Field House Food Garden

This year our whole team including residents have been working hard on our vegetable and herb gardens. Our chefs have loved popping into the garden, picking fresh produce and cooking delicious meals for our residents! We have a huge selection of berries and fruits, herbs of just about every variety and enough vegetables to go with every meal.

Jenga Champion

Peter just can’t be beaten at Jenga!! When we first took this game from the box Peter had no idea what it was, he said I can’t play this I don’t know what it is. He was encouraged to have a go and he was just engrossed, he has a very steady hand and he can sit and play for hours. Everyone has tried to beat him but we just can’t!
