Types of care

Ottley House provides person-centred care to residents who live with dementia on our Memory Lane community, and to residents who require nursing care on the Ann Carter unit. Ottley House was the first Barchester care home to receive the 10-60-6 accreditation for the new way in which dementia care is delivered. Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Davina McLoughlin

General Manager

Hi, my name is Davina and I am the General Manager here at Ottley House. I hope you find what you're looking for on our website.

I started my career in care at Ottley House more than twenty years ago. At that time I worked in several areas which were a carer, senior carer and activities organiser. I was encouraged to pursue my passion and to follow my dream which was to become a Registered Nurse.

I thoroughly enjoyed my nurse training and was lucky enough to work along side some amazing people. On successful completion of my nurse training I decided to focus on orthopaedic nursing. I have previously worked as a ward Sister. This gave me the opportunity to develop my clinical and managerial skills where I was able to develop and guide a team of nurses. I specialised in nursing people with spinal injuries and people requiring hip and knee surgery.

I felt that my time on the ward was a great experience and gave me the correct skill sets to achieve my real passion which was to work within a nursing home. The opportunity arose to return to Ottley House Care Home as the Deputy Manager. This was an opportunity that I just had to take. I have been in post at Ottley House now since May 2015 as the Deputy Manager and was promoted to General Manager in 2017. I take great pride in my position and aim to deliver high quality nursing care to the residents who live at the home.

Claire Cowper

Deputy Manager

Hi, my name is Claire, and I am the Deputy Manager here at Ottley House.

I originally started at Ottley many years ago as a Care Assistant. I left to continue my development and to complete my mental health nurse training, which was something that I had always wanted to do and an area that I was very passionate about.

I am still very passionate about my role and ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of care and are treated with dignity and respect at all times.

I returned to Ottley House in 2015 as the Head of Unit for Memory Lane. I remained in this position for 18 months and worked hard with my team to move the unit forward and successfully achieved Barchester's dementia care training accreditation.

In January 2017, I took a post at a different company, which& gave me the experience managing a large nursing home.

In February 2018, there came an opportunity for me to return to Ottley House as the Deputy Manager, which I did without hesitation, as Ottley House has a special place in my heart and it felt like I was coming home.
