Staff at Field House are celebrating after our home performed strongly in Your Care Rating 2017, a nationwide survey of care home residents, families and friends. The results show we were given an overall score of 897 out of 1,000 by family and friends. You can read the report here.

Situated in rural Shropshire and close to the local amenities of Church Stretton, Field House provides residential care in a home-from-home environment, with great gardens and good public transport links.

Field House is a small and friendly home providing services for frail older people, for people with disabilities and for people with sensory impairments. Links with local services are strong, so visits from GPs, district nurses, dieticians, physiotherapists and chiropodists are easily arranged.

Snacks and drinks are easily accessible throughout the home and there is a kitchenette where people are encouraged to make their own drinks.

Claire Harris

General Manager

Hello, my name is Claire, and I am the General Manager here at Field House – welcome to our website!

I first came into the care sector over 10 years ago, where I first started out in domiciliary care as a carer – and I completely fell in love with the job! Throughout my time in the sector, I’ve worked in the community with people in their own homes, provided rehabilitation from hospital, cared for people who have had strokes, supported people with Parkinson’s, those living with mental health conditions and I have provided palliative care. I have also taken care of people who are living with dementia.

I started my journey here at Field House in 2015, when I joined the team as the Deputy Manager & Head of Care, and was promoted to General Manager at the beginning of 2017. My prior knowledge of and experience at the home before my promotion to this role has been a great asset in supporting residents and and staff.

I have great experience and knowledge of the care sector and I have a passion for delivering high quality care. The residents are at the heart of everything I do here at Field House and are what make the home truly special.

I am able to develop a strong team and share my vision of what outstanding care feels and looks like; I feel very proud to be the General Manager here at Field House.

I think you'll find us very unique and well-suited to provide you or your loved one with the care you deserve.

In our latest CQC inspection, we received a ‘Good’ rating within all five areas. More recently, in August 2016 - during the organisations internal regulations inspection - our home was considered to be rated overall as ‘Outstanding.’ This accolade was achieved in the areas of Effective, Caring and Well-led, with ‘Good’ still maintained in Safe and Responsive.
