Having joined Field House in 2014 as the Home Administrator, I have enjoyed every day since. My responsibilities involve ensuring that the contractual, financial and operational elements of the home are in order. However, no two days are the same here, and the interaction I am privileged to have with residents makes for a very family-orientated atmosphere. The ‘home from home’ environment we have created, and continue to develop, makes us truly unique.
This is my first role in the care sector, but I have worked in customer service, healthcare and administrative environments since leaving university, where I achieved a 2:1 BA Honours degree in History. Since joining Barchester, I have achieved a Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, which has enabled me to support residents and their loved ones in making the transition to living in a care setting a smooth one.
Prior to working at Field House, I was employed at the pharmacy the home used, and became immediately aware of the extra mile the staff here go to for residents. This kindled my wish to join the team as soon as possible.
Outside of work I am a keen gardener – gaining my green fingers and customer focus working at David Austin Roses for over seven years; I also love cooking, going for walks around the Longmynd and Shropshire, reading and tackling a bit of DIY at home (with mixed success).
