Activities at Drummond Grange Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Long Service Award

Long Service Award

We celebrated the 15th anniversary of Laarni Tolentino working at Drummond Grange. She works on the Young Disabled Unit of Buccleuch, but has also worked on the Care of the Elderly Unit as well. Residents enjoyed having a drink to celebrate her success.

What have we been up to?

We've been keeping busy lately!

Residents have been playing giant Jenga and having a lot of fun in the snow.

Exercises for the Lungs

Residents enjoyed a singing for health session, which was called 'Exercises for the Lungs'. We added more fun to it by introducing blow-up guitars and, of course, a blow-up microphone.

Concert with Michael Patterson

Concert with Michael Patterson

Residents at Drummond Grange enjoyed a performance from Michael Patterson. He sang a mixture of songs from Dixie, Mammy, Scottish, Irish and some of the regular singalong songs from the war time. He mixed with the residents, getting them to singalong with him and kept giving them a twirl of the kilt.

50th Birthday Celebrations

50th Birthday Celebrations

Resident, Evelyn, celebrated her 50th birthday with her mother and aunt. A party was organised with a beautiful buffet, which was provided by our chef.

Bingo!

Bingo!

Two residents recently went to play bingo at Emily Court, a sheltered housing community in Gorebridge, which is quite near our home. There was not a lot of people there, but residents were made to feel very welcome.
