Staff at Drummond Grange are celebrating after our home performed strongly in Your Care Rating 2017, a nationwide survey of care home residents. The results show we were given an overall performance rating score of 910 out of 1,000. You can read the report here

We are proud to be one of the first homes to be accredited as part of Barchester’s 10-60-06 Dementia Care Programme, reflecting the enhanced quality of dementia care and improved quality of life experienced by residents here at Drummond Grange.

At Drummond Grange we provide support to younger adults with physical disabilities, including spinal injury. We also support and care for people with long-term illnesses such as Huntington's disease and multiple sclerosis. The care we provide varies from life support ventilation, physiotherapy and enteral feeding to physical and psychological assistance with daily routines or pastimes.

In addition, on separate units we provide first class 24-hour care for older people with varying nursing or residential support needs. We also have a dedicated Memory Lane Community, where our team is specifically trained to provide the highest standard of care for people living with dementia.

We are located in Lasswade, a picturesque village on the edge of the river North Esk, but we are only six miles from Edinburgh for those looking for city life and leisure opportunities.

We would be delighted to discuss your specific needs and wishes in person and are confident that we can meet your needs, both now and in the future.

Please feel free to contact us or visit at any time.

Eleanor Wilson

General Manager

Hi, my name is Eleanor, and I am the General Manager here at Drummond Grange. Welcome to our website!

I have been nursing since 1972, having begun my career as a Nursing Assistant in one of the largest Psychiatric Hospitals in the county. I continued to develop my career, working in various specialties in both hospital and community in NHS Lanarkshire. My last post within the NHS before taking early retirement was as a General Manger for Motherwell Locality with an area wide lead for older people with mental health problems, including dementia.

My retirement was short lived and after a brief period of rest and relaxation I joined Barchester Health Care as Deputy Manager at Alexandra Court in Glasgow, where I worked  happily for two years.

I came to Drummond Grange on a temporary basis at the beginning of 2014 and found the welcome I received from residents and colleagues overwhelming, and as such was delighted to be offered the opportunity to join the team on a permanent basis.

In 2016, I won a Resident Engagement Award at the 18th National Care Awards because of the proven positive effect I have had on residents and staff whilst working at Drummond Grange.
