The staff makes you so welcome when you arrive to visit, they always come and ask if you would like tea. Just to see my friend settled in and a lot more happier makes me happy to see her. I know my friend's illness is only going to deteriorate but I know she is being well looked after she loves having her hair and nails done. Thanks to all!"

"In general, we have been satisfied with the care my dad has received. However, in February we received a call to say there was some bruising on my dad's side. They could not explain how it happened. It took a long time for the bruising. Despite speaking to all staff, nobody admitted anything. So it remained a mystery how it happened. We always worry anyone could walk in, it's not very secure. We should get a discount on food as Dad is peg-fed and can't eat."

"I highly recommend Drummond Grange. There is always a warm welcome on arrival from staff. A bright, spacious and yet homely environment. The service users all have very clean and individually decorated rooms. The feeling there is likeness to a lovely hotel, in many aspects. Such as the beautiful dining room, spotless with menus. The kitchen staff are helpful and it is spotless and cared for. Today there are service users, relaxing in the hall together and sitting room. Everyone is peaceful or simply socialising. The individual care plans are well thought out. The communication is very good indeed. Really Drummond Grange is one of the very best I have ever visited. If I needed care this is here I would choose to come!"

"In my opinion, this is an exceptional care home, catering from for the special needs my son requires. The staff are very caring for his personal needs and also his mental health which was noted by the hospital speciality clinic remarked that due to the care he was received by the team there was no deterioration in his condition which was very comforting for me to have this opinion from another medical team outside the care home. The atmosphere in home is so friendly and relaxing without affecting the professional duties they have to do. I am so grateful for what they do for my son."

"My sister is amazing! So I'm incredibly pleased she is surrounded by amazing people. Drummond Grange really is a unique place and that is down to its staff. The skill and knowledge of the Melville team is so impressive, offering extremely complex care in a friendly, family way. Care and humour combined create a warm and fun atmosphere. It is fantastic that you support my sister to continue to enjoy concerts and events. Nearly every time I visit, staff take part in creative entertainment involving many residents. It is also brilliant that she has on-tap physiotherapy, which is unheard of anywhere else. With this support, she can continue to use her phone and paint. The feeling of one big family is so evident. Amazing people."

"The nursing and care are excellent. Although a large home, the staff all seems to know the resident's name and their needs, and there is a happy, friendly vibe. My mother had a fall - the promptness, care and attention to her and me was of an excellent standard from everyone - we cannot praise them enough. Always open to discussion and resolution if an issue arises, although we wait to see if new housekeepers can address laundry situations. Would prefer there was secure access at the front door."

"Once again, astounded by the level of care, support and thought given to my brother and myself. The recent death of our sister was handled with great respect and dignity. They supported my brother in bringing him to the funeral and I would like to thank the two members of staff for being so kind and supportive on the day and all the team for making it happen. Such a comfort that my brother is loved and cared for by such amazing staff."

"Understanding that we have all just recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic, I think that the home has improved on a number of levels: Personalised care has improved though I would rather more attention be given to residents, especially checking they are wearing clean clothes or dresses. Plate sizes and quality have improved though more seasonal fruits and vegetables would be most appreciated. More credit to staff who are obliging and willing."

"I have a good relationship with staff and manager. I have been going for respite for years, my husband was there for five years before he died 14 years ago. My daughter was there for six years in the home. My other daughter is in the home for four years, she will be there until anything happens to her, I have no worries about the care she gets. They phone if anything is wrong. I am impressed with the care."

"It is hard to quantify, but the staff are consistently positive and happy, and this feeling of well-being seems to transfer to the residents and their visitors who always feel welcomed. It is clear that the staff really care about those they care for. The home has a new manager, yet there was no discernible change in the smooth running of the home. At a recent music festival organised for the benefit of the residents, all the care staff and management actively participated in a very enjoyable event. Cannot decide if I liked the zumba display, choir or hamburgers best."

"Has been better than expected. Staff are very friendly and caring, everyone seems to muck in. Lots of activities but one criticism is that the written records are not up to scratch so it is difficult for loved ones to get a feel for what their loved one's are doing and taking part in. Without constantly asking, no idea what they have done. No continuity of taking part in activities. Was told there was an opportunity to go to a swimming pool but, although shorts were bought five months ago, never taken yet. But happy with overall care."

Having been housebound for a couple of years, it has been wonderful to see my mum taking part in the many activities (she has even been swimming!). "We, as a family, could not have found a better care facility for my son. The staff are amazing, and from day one, they could have done enough to make settling in and the leaving home process any better. I feel this is the ideal place for my son to be. He has his independence away from us and all the care he needs. Everyone is always polite and goes out of their way to help, and nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of moving to this home."

"I came to Barchester Drummond Grange Care Home on 27/06/23 after 6 months in hospital. When I came here I was confused and in a lot of pain. Having now settled, getting closer to accepting I'll never walk again. The staff have been amazing, kind, caring and professional. Everyone, carers, admin, carers, cleaners. They create a friendly, open atmosphere. You are encouraged to make your room your own, you can join in or keep to yourself, and all choices are respected. I feel respected and listened to."

"I always have a pleasant visit when coming to see my mum, the staff are always lovely and eager to help if you have any issues/questions. "I find my wife being cared for in a proper and dignified way by all the staff, her medical needs are well catered for. I am delighted I am able to take my dog in on visits as my wife remembers her by name and there is a bond which I find beneficial to her condition. The care home is a sad place to be nevertheless the staff help to make it pleasant by their kindness, I am grateful for their care and kindness."

"I want to say thank you to this team, all coming from heaven. They are angels and they know what they are doing. They are trying to do the best for my muscles, especially in my hands, they also do a great job with my legs. I want to thank all the carers, nurses and management. Thank you to the physio team, they give me a chance to stand in the hydro pool, this was amazing. My wife is over the moon about my improvements. I can now eat and drink by myself, which I could not do in the hospital."

"I have been visiting my close friend at Drummond Grange Care Home for over five years now. I could not speak more highly of both his carers and his lifestyle. The staff are very sensitive and caring. Very kind. His room and appearance are always well cared for. If I were in his situation, I would choose to be cared for by Drummond Grange. Drummond Grange was my choice beyond all other care homes I had visited prior to his admission."

"Every aspect of dealing with Drummond Grange Care Home was fantastic! The only reason I did not give the facilities full marks is that it is starting to look a little tired. However, that is being addressed by management with the refresh of rooms over time. I would like to give special thanks to all of the staff, especially but by no means limited to those in the dementia unit. Absolutely everyone we interacted with was doing a top-notch job and obviously cared very deeply about what they were doing. Sadly, my father-in-law has now passed, but we will always remember how well he was treated in his final days."

"My daughter moved in here 3-weeks ago, and I feel a lot more relaxed knowing she’s being cared for. All the staff are friendly, always take time to have a blether, although they are all busy. She has a nice room and plenty of activities going on. I’m going with her on Friday for karaoke. A hairdresser comes in. Five stars to all the staff. She is being well looked after. Thanks to all the staff."

"The rooms are a bit dated and could do with modernisation. Pads don't fit very well as they are always leaking and have to get bottoms changed on a regular basis. There are two types of beds, one that raises at the back of the knees that would stop my wife from slipping down the bed, but unfortunately, my wife's bed does not have this. Otherwise, everything else is of a satisfactory standard."

"My sister has moved into the home this week. I went to visit this week, and the home is lovely, the staff are so friendly, and the food is great. Lots going on and lots of staff about. The chiropodist came to see my sister, but because we were there, it was no problem to come back. She has an en-suite and gets a shower every day. My sister is enjoying it and settled in well."

"A pod visit had been organised for me to see my friend. I was concerned to see that her head wasn't at an angle where she could easily see me, she looked very uncomfortable. It would have been possible to have an additional cushion or similar support to be in place, this would also have allowed her to be in a better position to speak into the microphone on her side of the pod."

"A big reassurance during this past lockdown phase is knowing that my partner is well looked after and has been shown genuine love and compassion. It has been so difficult for them to understand (no visiting). I am always kept up to date with his health. All the staff are dedicated and through difficult times always manage a kind word and a smile. My partner looks healthy with the good food and special care and help he receives. The rooms are clean and tidy, and has been made personal to feel like home."

"I only have positive feedback for Drummond Grange care Home. Their professional and personal, emotional and all-round care is excellent. I have been visiting weekly outside and last week it was pouring with rain, we had our first visit in the new Pod. We were able to go in and take our coat off, have a coffee and chatted. It was amazing for us all."

"The care home has been very good with the care and information provided during this difficult time. They are doing their best during outdoor visits, but with our unpredictable Scottish weather, I feel for the residents who are coming out of a warm environment and having to cope with often wet and windy weather with no substantial shelter. Looking ahead to autumn and winter visits, perhaps outdoor heaters may be helpful."

"I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they are giving my mum at this horrendous time for you all. To go into work every day knowing the risks you are taking is above and beyond, and I applaud you all for your dedication. It is 5-weeks now since I have seen my mum - I've missed her birthday, Mother's Day and Easter with her - but I know she is in hands who care for her. She is not the easiest of people to care for, but the staff know her well and know when to approach and when to "back off." I'll never be able to thank you all enough."

"From the reception desk, right through the home Staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful. Myself and three other visitors had lunch, which was enjoyable. Afterwards, there was music and dancing. My resident friend fairly came alive during this. Her room was very cold, so I mentioned it to a carer, who said it had been noted that the radiator wasn't working and it would be fixed. We left at 3.20 and it hadn't been repaired. I trust that it was fixed later."

"My wife and I can do nothing but sing the praises of all the staff we came into contact with during Mum's residence at the home over the past three years. Everyone was lovely, very kind and caring and always had time for a chat when we visited. Amazing facilities, rooms were spotless and the food always looked and smelled very good. The staff couldn't do enough for Mum and were so caring, right to the end of her life."

"I visit my cousin regularly. I am always impressed by the friendliness of all the nursing staff and other staff. They always ask how are you today? Which shows their concern by the relatives. My cousin has had on a few occasions, some concerning problems which were dealt with quickly and professionally. My cousin is very happy and contented here. I wouldn't wish to have him anywhere else."

"The overall care for my relative in this home is outstanding except for the fact they don't sometimes take into account anything we wish to be done to our relative. Always seems to be the same clothes, they are always clean but tend to be the same ones, and her wardrobe is full of clothes. Items seem to go "missing" frequently and no one knows where they disappear to."

"Find this care home well run. Staff are kind and caring while under sometimes very difficult circumstances. Rooms need to be upgraded. Washable flooring, walk-in showers would be better for residents and staff for certain residents!! (Dementia). Barchester Drummond Grange Care Home is excellent and would recommend it."

"I have visited my friend who has been a resident of Barchester Drummond Grange Care Home for some time on a number of occasions. On each occasion, I find the staff are extremely helpful, the facilities to be clean and maintained to a high standard. The Grange is a bright airy place and has a warm friendly atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the manager and staff who genuinely care and go out of their way to ensure residents are well looked after with lots of activities to get everyone involved and made to feel important and not excluded."

"My mother is being very well cared for. Her needs are met and the staff are very kind and caring. She was always very well dressed and the staff are keeping this up by coordinating her outfits, which I really appreciate. When medical attention is required, she receives it very promptly. "In my view it is the biggest decision of your life to make; do you place your loved one in an 'institution'? Do you admit you cannot give the required care and attention any more and do you ask others to care for your loved one as much as you have tried to do? Having gone through this a year ago and with my wife still in the care of Drummond Grange, I can honestly say all of my fears have been banished. The guilt will never leave, but knowing your loved one is cared for, respected and, dare I say it, so clearly loved by the staff, it makes life so much easier. I wouldn't wish the situation on anyone, but if you are in that position I would have no hesitation in entrusting the care of my loved one to Drummond Grange."

"I can only praise the care home for everything they do. I am always welcomed and kept informed about my son. The home is immaculate and my son is always showered and shaved every day. The staff are always very pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere in the home as a whole is extremely comforting, especially to me as I was so concerned when my son had to move to a nursing home because I could not provide the specialist care required."

"I cannot praise the nursing/care and management enough. This was my first experience of care homes and I cannot believe how happy this establishment has made my son, who is a resident, and myself. We were both very apprehensive of this decision for him to go into a care home but feel it is the best decision we have made for him. "Although my husband has been in Drummond Grange Care Home for a short time there has been a marked improvement in his well being. His mood has lifted and he has begun to say more words. (He had almost lost all his speech). He is looking around more and engaging with others more, both family and carers. There is also a marked improvement in his personal care, always clean and tidy."

"Excellent care. My mother could not be better looked after. The staff are all excellent and my mother has her dignity back after a few years of neglecting issues. "My partner went into Barchester Drummond Grange Care Home two months ago and you could not wish for any more out of a care home. She is treated with untold dignity and looked after extremely well. The food is really good and I have something to eat every time I go to visit (2 - 3 times weekly). The staff and management go out of their way to help everyone under their care. They do a super job of running the home the way it should be run."

"There is no washing up liquid or cloth to wash up the cups and some cups are disgusting and nothing to clean the sink! very surprised at that. Fingernails do not get cut we have to do it, very rarely does this happen. Sometimes he is cold when we go in, I don't know if they check or feel his arms? He does not speak to tell."

"Staff second to none, can not praise them highly enough. The way they cared for my dad was impeccable, the way they were considerate to us as a family was also impeccable. On behalf of my sisters and myself, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the care and attention you gave our Mum, the time she was with you, it was all we would have wished for and more. We know she could be stubborn but we know you were all brilliant with her. Thank you so much. 

Mum and dad have been heartily welcome into Drummond Grange and as a family we are all delighted that they have settled so well. They are cared for not only professionally but with care and compassion. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. The meals are excellent. We are delighted by the activities that they can get involved in, as well as the outings. One main thing is that the staff are all "on the ball" if and when needed, and we know mum and dad are in the best possible hands. We have definitely chosen the best place for our parents. Thank you.
