Residential Care

We offer care and support in a warm, homely and friendly environment. Our team of qualified and dedicated staff focus on the individual needs of each person, and are committed to providing professional and respectful care, with the residentsat the heart of everything they do.

Dementia Care

The home has a dedicated area, which we call our Memory Lane Community, offering high quality care for people with dementia. Within our community, memory boxes with small reminders and items, such as photographs, are used to help each person reminisce. Features, such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low risk walkways and activity kitchens also enable people to engage in life's everyday simple tasks and pleasures. Essential to our homely feel is the enhanced relationship of trust we build with family, friends and residents.

Our luxurious facilities combined with highly trained staff ensures that each and every individual is given superior attention. Our 24-hour care is provided in a warm, welcoming environment, with delicious meals and daily activities, including a choice of therapeutic approaches. Together with our lively social calendar, these help to stimulate people’s minds, and empowers them to approach their future in a positive way.

Please feel free to give us a call or fill out an enquiry form below. We will be happy to assist you in any way we can.

Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Lucy Duffin

General Manager

Hi, my name is Lucy and I am the General Manager here at Queens Manor. Welcome to our website!

I have wanted to work with people since I was young. I have always loved meeting new people, hearing their stories learning about their experiences. I decided when I was 17 to pursue a career in nursing – in particular, helping those with learning difficulties. I have enormous passion for supporting people and helping them to live their lives to the fullest. I feel that I am lucky and in a unique position to be able to support people at a stage in their lives where it can feel as though the quality of their life will never be as good as it once was. My aim is to support people to feel differently in this position.

Through the years, my career has taken me from specialist services to supporting older adults. Having experience in multiple areas of care and support has helped to shape the ideas and visions I have of truly person-centred care. My visions start at being able to support people to lead full and stimulating lives, despite circumstance, diagnosis or age. I truly believe that most things are possible! My real aim is to support people in continuing to have a goal, striving for the things that are important to them and having a great time in the process. Life is for living!

Home Service Advisor

I have worked for Barchester in many different roles since I was 16, so it’s a company that I’m very familiar with.

I’ve worked as an Administrator, Receptionist, Activities Coordinator and in hospitality, so I know our homes pretty well.

After graduating university, I began working at Barchester's head office in London as part of the marketing team until I decided to move to Australia in 2016.

In 2018, I returned to the UK and I’m excited to be back and working at Queens Manor, getting back to something I’ve always loved doing.

Michael Prendergast

Head of Residential

Hi, my name is Michael and I am the Head of Residential here at Queens Manor.

I have worked in residential care for almost 10 years and started off as a Bank Care Assistant, eventually working my way up to becoming a Deputy Manager, before deciding to go to University to get my degree in 2015. So, when I completed my degree in 2018, I decided to start looking for that next step and challenge again, bringing me to Queen’s Manor.

The attention to detail and facilities on offer to those who live here is what excited me about the post and the amazing results our lifestyle enrichment programme will bring. Activities being meaningful and purposeful to residents is a direct passion of mine, and I really love hearing the stories they have to tell!

I look forward to leading an amazing team in delivering care that is second to none, and seeing the benefits this brings to those we support is what makes it all worthwhile.

Sara Wyse

Team Leader

I began working with older adults in a care setting in 2012. My career in care and support followed my very personal experience, which helped steer me to find my vocation. I am enormously passionate about supporting older adults, and specifically, helping people to live a happy, fulfilled and enriched life.

Since I started working in care, I have, through learning and development, progressed to Head of Memory Lane at Queens Manor. I have found that my particular area of expertise, and where my passion lies, is in supporting those living with dementia.

Queens Manor is a beautiful home that has been designed to support people who live with dementia in a positive and encouraging way.

I am looking forward to growing our home and our team to welcome everyone and to fill every day with laughter and joy.
