Queens Manor Care Home
Queens Manor Care Home in Edinburgh
Queens Manor Care Home has been specifically designed to provide high-quality residential care to older people, including individuals living with dementia. The home is located on Queensferry Road, near Edinburgh Airport, and is about a 20 minute drive to the city centre.
Residential Care
We offer care and support in a warm, homely and friendly environment. Our team of qualified and dedicated staff focus on the individual needs of each person, and are committed to providing professional and respectful care, with the residentsat the heart of everything they do.
Dementia Care
The home has a dedicated area, which we call our Memory Lane Community, offering high quality care for people with dementia. Within our community, memory boxes with small reminders and items, such as photographs, are used to help each person reminisce. Features, such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low risk walkways and activity kitchens also enable people to engage in life's everyday simple tasks and pleasures. Essential to our homely feel is the enhanced relationship of trust we build with family, friends and residents.
Our luxurious facilities combined with highly trained staff ensures that each and every individual is given superior attention. Our 24-hour care is provided in a warm, welcoming environment, with delicious meals and daily activities, including a choice of therapeutic approaches. Together with our lively social calendar, these help to stimulate people’s minds, and empowers them to approach their future in a positive way.

Sharon McGowan
Hi, my name is Sharon, and I am General Manager here at Queens Manor. Welcome to our website!
Thank you for taking the time to look further into what Queens Manor has to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.
I graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2000 and have worked in care homes since then. In that time I worked my way up from Staff Nurse to Unit Manager to Home Manager and finally to Area Manager for a midsized Care Provider. I have worked alongside some amazing people who have helped me become the manager I am today.
I am looking forward to bringing all my knowledge, experience and passion for this industry to my new role as General Manager at Queens Manor. I am extremely proud of my career progression and the lives that I have touched and hopefully made better along the way- residents, families and colleagues. Residents are at the centre of everything I do.
