Activities at Drummond Grange Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Residents, staff and visitors celebrated Mother's Day with a champagne afternoon with small cakes and nibbles. A raffle was also held, with winners receiving flowers or chocolates.

Residents and staff each chose a balloon to remember their mother by or to wish their mother a happy Mother's Day. The balloons were then tied to a tree outside.

Red Nose Day

Residents and staff enjoyed an afternoon of karaoke for Comic Relief. Head of Memory Lane, Jim Dean, came in to busk around the units and was accompanied by Carer, Sarah Robertson, and Head of Activities, Anne McShane. Impromptu concerts were held at the front door, in corridors, lounges and, at one point, in the lift.

Nettie's 60th Birthday

Head of Unit, Annete 'Nettie' Goodfellow, celebrated her 60th birthday here at Drummond Grange. She received presents and cards from the staff of both the Kevock and Pentland units.

Nettie's daughters decided to take her on holiday, but did not tell her where she was going; she was very surprised when she arrived in Egypt.
