Activities at Drummond Grange Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Drummond Grange Care Home

Open Day

Residents and guests had a lovely time at our open day. The weather was really nice and some residents chose to sit outside in the sunshine. We had a magician called Jamie join us, who entertained us with some tricks of magic and balloon modelling.

Residents, visitors and staff enjoyed a buffet whilst Jamie had a short break and then soldiered on. Jamie then took a trip through the home and spent some one-to-one time with residents who were unable to attend his performance. Just as we were finishing, we were joined by another magician (Craig) who happened to be in the area and he assisted with the card magic and balloon modelling.

Birthday Celebrations

Birthday Celebrations

Residents, Frank, recently celebrated his 102nd birthday here at Drummond Grange surrounded by friends and family members.

Happy birthday, Frank!

Easter Cake

We did some baking in preparation for Barchester's Easter Cake Competition.

Mother's Day

Another year has gone by since Mother’s Day and, again, we wanted to show residents how much they mean to us.

Residents were invited to have some Prosecco and chocolates and to write a tag to go on a balloon, which we'd then attach to a tree. We called this our ‘Appreciation Tree’.

,

Sundae Sunday

Residents on our Memory Lane unit enjoyed the lovely sundaes made by Jon Carlos. The sweet treats contained pieces of melon, raspberries and bananas, in addition to chocolate flakes, wafer fans, sprinkles and much more.

Smoothie Day

Head Chef, Ahmet, made some smoothies for our smoothie sampling session. They were delcious!
