Activities at Drummond Grange Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

St Patrick's Day

St Patrick's Day

We hosted a Guinness and Baileys afternoon with an Irish-themed quiz and traditional music. Everyone had lots of fun!

Out & About

Out & About

Residents enjoyed a trip to Murrayfield Ice Rink in Edinburgh. They really loved being on the ice, although it was a little cold, so the hot chocolate after was very welcome. Everyone said they had a great time and would love to go again.

Valentine's Day

On the day itself, residents enjoyed a cream tea in the afternoon, followed by a concert in the evening, which friends and family were invited. There were also some sweet treats provided for everyone. Residents also loved getting their pictures taken with some of the photo props.

Hydro-Therapy

We have been taking our young-disabled residents to the local hydrotherapy pool for the past few months, but this was the first time we took residents from our Memory Lane Community. The 2 residents both had a whale of a time.

,

Burns Night

In honour of Robert Burns, residents enjoyed some whiskey and Scottish food tasting in the afternoon,  followed by a Burns concert in the evening. Each resident also received some homemade Scottish tablet or a sprig of lucky Scottish heather as a special Burns Night gift. The haggis supper was piped in by our music therapist, Rory, and everyone had a great time.

Christmas Party

Our Christmas party entertainer was Ged Hanley and he gave quite a performance singing a mixture of music, including Christmas carols, pop songs and Scottish medleys.
