Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Daxter Board

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Daxter and I'm the activities coordinator here at Claremont Parkway. I've worked within care homes since moving to Kettering and have experience across the departments giving me a good understanding of all our resident's needs.

I'm passionate about providing tailored activities that truly engage each and every resident. Through getting to know them as individuals, I can work together with my colleagues to find life enriching experiences; small or large that will brighten their days whilst they reside with us.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Carers Week

For Carers Week, we made a 'Wall of Thanks'. We asked the residents if they had anything that they wanted to say to the care team. The care team were very touched by the nice messages from the residents

National Biscuit Day

To celebrate National Biscuit Day, residents made Empire biscuits. We also took a biscuit poll to see which was the winning biscuit of Claremont Parkway: everyone unanimously decided it was Viennese. We also asked the question: do you think the Jaffa Cake is a biscuit or a cake? We here at Claremont Parkway have spoken: it is a biscuit.

International Dance Day

We celebrated International Dance Day at the home. One of our night care assistants Elain, who is a Zumba teacher and trained in different styles of dance. Came in and lead the residents in a dance class, and went thought different dances with them.

VE Day Celebrations

Even on VE Day, the team here at Claremont Parkway couldn't forget May Day. We contacted our local schools to see if any of them had a Maypole we could borrow for the day.

Luckily for us, the Head Teacher of Grange Primary Academy, Chris Latimer, did. He was even kind enough to drop it off for us!

The residents really enjoyed watching the team try their hand at Maypole dancing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had a good laugh.

Rainbow Day

The management team at Claremont Parkway has decided that each Friday will be a morale boosting day for the staff.

Friday 17th April was deemed to be ‘Rainbow Day’, when team members wore colourful outfits for work.

There is also a designated activity for them to get involved, and this week it was an Oomph session choreographed by Dot Skelham, our Activities Coordinator.

The team had a great fun-filled 10 minutes exercise session, alongside a couple of residents to brighten their day.

Easter Eggs Donation

Claremont Parkway Care Home has also been donated some Easter eggs from Niamh, our Homes Manager's Granddaughter, along with a handwritten letter to be shared with residents and teams.
