Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Daxter Board

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Daxter and I'm the activities coordinator here at Claremont Parkway. I've worked within care homes since moving to Kettering and have experience across the departments giving me a good understanding of all our resident's needs.

I'm passionate about providing tailored activities that truly engage each and every resident. Through getting to know them as individuals, I can work together with my colleagues to find life enriching experiences; small or large that will brighten their days whilst they reside with us.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Claremont Parkway Care Home

A guest bingo caller

Steve, the Head of Maintenance at Claremont Parkway, had a fun afternoon running a bingo session for residents. He said it made a nice change from checking and fixing things, and it gave him and our residents a great opportunity to get to know each other a bit better.  We're one big happy team here!

Elain is our star for July

Team members at Claremont Parkway each have their strengths and skills and we like to recognise them. We have chosen Elain from our Activities Team as Employee of the Month for July. Elain supports residents to do crafts, quizzes, games and physical activities. At this time of year she also finds ways to make the most of the garden and the better weather. Thank you for everything you do, Elain!

A Floral Surprise

We received a lovely donation of flowers from Trish, the Community Champion at Morrison’s in Kettering. Two residents made small arrangements for tables in the Claremont Parkway dining room. Jacqui, our Receptionist, arranged some sunflowers for our reception table.

World Chocolate Day Fountain

On World Chocolate Day residents at Claremont Parkway enjoyed our new chocolate fountain. We dipped lots of different foods into the velvety chocolate, including marshmallows, waffles, strawberries and bread. Joyce loved her selection of treats while she read her book.

Carnival Games

We had fun this morning at Claremont Parkway taking a selection of carnival games to residents' bedrooms for some one-to-one fun and conversation. Joyce, Peter and other residents enjoyed Bean Bag Throwing and knocking down the Tin Cans.

A memory game from our childhood

Do you remember playing Memory Tray games at children’s parties in your younger days? Elaine from the Activities Team at Claremont Parkway filled a tray with assorted household items, then covered it over and removed an item for residents to work out what was missing. We all enjoy this activity as it keeps our brains active and promotes some fascinating recollections of childhood fun.
