Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Maria Durrant
Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

Life at Chater Lodge Care Home
Ark Wildlife Park
Residents visited Ark Wildlife Park and got to meet some of the animals. It was an amazing experience.
School Visit
We have formed some beautiful friendships with the reception class at Ketton C of E Primary School. They have visited us twice now, sharing drawings and songs. Residents are always thrilled to see their little friends and, going forward, they will be regular visitors to the home and have been given the very important job of naming 2 of our chickens.

Chicks at Chater
Residents made their way over to the chicken coop to welcome our chicks into the outside community garden. They had fun wandering around their new home. It was a lovely afternoon, which was rounded off with some lovely ice lollies in the sunshine.
Our chicks are growing up!
Our beautiful chicks are growing fast and are a constant source of joy to our residents who they visit in their rooms regularly. We are keeping 5 girls and Chick-a-boo, the cockerel, to keep them in check!
Rutland Farm Park
David, Bet, Diane and Margaret had a wonderful day out at Rutland Farm Park, where they got up close and personal with llamas, goats, pigs, horses, sheep and chickens.
