Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Maria Durrant
Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

Life at Chater Lodge Care Home
St David's Day celebrations
As part of our St David's day celebrations residents at Chater Lodge arranged vases of daffodils to bring a little bit of spring into our home.
Halloween Fun
At Chater Lodge we had fun carving and painting pumpkins for the Ketton Village Pumpkin Trail.
Mince pies to share
At Chater Lodge we loved the smell of freshly cooked mince pies made by residents. It was a fun activity - we loved the sensory feel of the pastry and reminiscing about our favourite Christmas foods and traditions.
Christmas Creations
Our residents have been busy making Christmas cards to send to family and friends. We think they turned out quite nicely!
Christmas Choir
The local choir and orchestra came to perform for us with an array of well-known carols. What a wonderful performance!
Christmas Baking
Christmas is upon us, so we decided it was time to make some mince pies — a job which all the residents enjoyed!
