Activities at Challoner House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Santa's Grotto

On Saturday 14th December we had a very special visit from Father Christmas at Challoner house, he gave out gifts to all our residents and the children who came to visit him in his grotto, it was a lovely Christmassy afternoon had by all.

Christmas Pantomime

Our residents enjoyed a fabulous Christmas pantomime show of the Beauty and the Beast, the residents joined in with singing and had a very enjoyable morning.

Local Manger Service

Our residents were invited to the opening of our local church’s Manger Service, as a part of St Martins Christmas celebrations. They had a very large display of mangers from all over the world, some of our residents really enjoys looking at the 115 different displays and talking about them with the parish community, we was then invited to stay and listen to a local school choir whilst enjoying tea and cake.

Armistice Day

On Monday 11th November, residents enjoyed taking part in Armistice Day. We were entertained by Amanda Parsons, who sang songs from the 1920s through to the 1950s. We had some tea and cake, but most importantly, we all remembered those that we've lost by taking part in the two minute silence.
