Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Challoner House Care Home
Making Memories
We had a lovely morning reminiscing and enjoying the sunshine in our award winning garden.
Jewellery Making
Residents had a great afternoon making their own necklaces and bracelets. It was an excellent activity for hand-eye coordination and, best of all, they got to keep their own creations.
August Open Day
We opened our doors to the community to show them how amazing our home looks. We had Ian Kimber singing for us, fizz, tea, cakes and scones – and everyone had a great time!
For the Love of Music
We love music here at Challoner House, just like everyone else. Listening to classics from the '40s through to the '70s went down a treat, and Marlene always surprises us with her fantastic song list, never failing to bring back lovely memories.
Entertainment with Dale
We had a fantastic weekend and had the pleasure of listening to Dale singing the best hits from Tom Jones, Elvis, Doris Day and many more.
Friendship Day
We celebrated Friendship Day at Challoner House by making cards. From choosing their favourite themes to writing to their friends, residents had a great morning. We also talked about friendship and what it means to us whilst having a cuppa and enjoying homemade cakes.
