Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Challoner House Care Home
Nicole’s Baby Shower
Today our residents had a great morning as they celebrated one of our staff members who was expecting her 1st baby soon and all our residents all came together to celebrate it with a baby shower they had gorgeous cake and bubbly and they even got to guess if it’s a boy or a girl everybody said they had a great morning and wish her all the best.
Care Awards 2022
Today was a special day for us here at Challoner House as all the staff and residents came together to celebrate this year’s care awards 2022 we we’re nominated for the Team of the year with 3 other homes the residents enjoyed lots of bubbly and snacks throughout the day sadly we didn’t win but we were all proud to have won the best home in our division all the residents said they had an amazing day.
PAT Dogs
On a Monday morning our residents look forward to seeing cassie our resident PAT Dog Cassie has been coming to Challoner House for the last 6 months and brings back memories of the residents childhood.
Knit & Knatter
Today our residents started a new group called knit & knatter as I have found lots of our residents like to knit and thought it would be good to bring all of our residents together and have started a new project where the residents have decided to make a blanket for a charity and also they are looking forward to making Christmas decorations and toys for disadvantage children in the community , we also find that this activity is good for their hand dexterity.
Victoria Country Park/Hamble Seafront
Today our residents had a lovely time as we took the mini bus out to the lovely Victoria country park in the morning and down to Hamble seafront in the afternoon also the residents got to have a nice tea or coffee in the sunshine or even a Mr Whippy ice-cream everyone said they had such a great time and look forward to see where they will go next.
Beer Tasting
In honour of National Beer Day, the residents at Challoner enjoyed a Beer Tasting Afternoon with lots of different flavoured Beers and Non Alcoholic Beer too!
