Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home

Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.

We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.

Bluebell Budgies

Bluebell Budgies

We would like to welcome Bramble and Bluey to Bluebell Park.  They were kindly donated to us and have fitted in really well.

The residents and families are loving them being here and are coming to sit and talk to them. It’s creating a lovely atmosphere in reception and a lovely sound for the residents to listen to.

Autumn Bloom

Autumn Bloom

A few months ago, residents planted sunflower seeds in Bluebell's garden. As you can see, they have exceeded our expectations and have brought fantastic colour to our garden in these shorter, darker days.

Summer Fête

Summer Fête

We had a lovely afternoon here at Bluebell Park; one resident, Betty, was chosen to open the Fête and was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

We had entertainment from Jojo the Grey Adoption and Rescue for Birds and Anna Michelle’s School of Dance. We also had a raffle, a tombola and a hook-a-duck game for the kids.

All residents and their loved ones had a great afternoon and it was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves.

Stunning Garden

Stunning Garden

As you can see here at Bluebell we have a stunning garden.  At this time of year the residents and families love nothing more than relaxing in this beautiful setting.

Big thanks to our lovely Gardener Craig, who has worked extremely hard to achieve these fantastic results.

Bluebell Park's Pond

Bluebell Park's Pond

Residents and staff at Bluebell Park have worked hard to renovate our pond to make it one of the main fixtures of our fantastic garden.

Residents visited the local garden centre to buy plants and additional fish, which helped to transform the pond.

Spirit of Chellaston

Spirit of Chellaston

Bluebell Park had a stall at the annual Spirit of Chellaston Festival. This is an important event where local businesses/organisations come together for an afternoon of fun and to build community links.

We held a raffle for the Barchester Charitable Foundation and our Senior Carer, Claire, did face painting, where she was kept very busy all afternoon.
