Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home

Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.

We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.

Life at Bluebell Park Care Home

New Year Celebrations

New Year Celebrations

We were very pleased to have Richard Comfort return to Bluebell Park to sing a selection of songs for the residents. It was a lovely afternoon with mince pies and sherry on tap to get everyone in the festive spirit. Residents and staff were able to sing along and have a dance to their favourite songs.

Bluebell Park Choir

Bluebell Park Choir

A few months ago we set up our very own Bluebell Park Choir, and every week the residents have been rehearsing in preparation for performing Christmas carols.

The Christmas concert took place last week, where residents and families came to listen and support, and a great afternoon was had by all!

Community Spirit

Community Spirit

Bluebell Park joined together with the local Barnardo’s charity shop, to help them host their Christmas tombola and to sell Christmas products for them.

Residents and families were able to purchase items and we welcomed customers of Barnardo’s into Bluebell Park for a cup of tea and mince pie whilst they were browsing.

Christmas Preparations

Christmas Preparations

As you can see, we have started putting up our festive decorations, and residents and staff at Bluebell Park are working together to prepare the home for Christmas.

This picture shows the enormous tree that is going to be displayed on our Memory Lane community. Christmas is such a special time for residents and there will be lots of activities and entertainment taking place throughout December.

Swing Afternoon

Swing Afternoon

Residents and staff members had a lovely afternoon enjoying a performance by the very talented vocalist, Luke Gessner.

His mixture of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin songs had the ladies swooning and the gentleman tapping their feet.

We look forward to welcoming Luke back soon.

Remembrance Service

Remembrance Service

Bluebell Park were honoured when St Peter’s Church, Chellaston, asked to perform a remembrance service at the home on 11/11/18. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the service, which was quite emotional. During the week, they had helped the activity team produce this lovely memory board, which took pride of place in the home.
