Activities at Worplesdon View Care Home
Activities at Worplesdon View
The activities team at Worplesdon View organise and run activities and events for large groups, small groups and individual residents. We include relatives, volunteers and the remaining staff whenever possible and encourage choice and participation from everyone we support. Our programme is planned in advance and is is designed provide tailored, meaningful activities for residents to participate in that will stimulate all senses, whist encouraging mental and physical well-being. We have an activity plan for all residents, and of course, this changes with the needs of each person to keep it up-to-date and useful. Worplesdon View is a fun and dynamic place to live and work, and the secret to this is that everyone is encouraged to see activities as part of their role in the home so that residents are happy and always have something to do.

Life at Worplesdon View Care Home
Life Skills
Residents love to get involved in their own daily routines. To celebrate that, we had a life skills week, where our residents were able to walk to down to memory lane, enjoying and executing simple tasks, such as folding laundry and baking their own biscuits.
Mother Earth Day
To celebrate the International Mother Earth Day, our residents had dazzling afternoon in the garden, where they were able to enjoy the sunshine at the same time planting some of their favourite vegetables.
Spreading Some Positivi-tea
At Worplesdon View marked the Queen’s 95th birthday on April 21st in style by brewing up a storm for National Tea Day and having an afternoon tea party. Our residents love nothing more than a good cuppa so they all really enjoyed the choice of different teas, cakes and events to our longest reigning monarch.
Going for Gold
Residents laced up their trainers and warmed-up for our sports day. With spring on the way, we had a great opportunity to practice some of our favourite sports and to keep fit for the summer. We had loads of fun!
The Mother of all Celebrations
Our residents celebrated Mother’s Day with tea party. Staff arranged flowers for every resident, a virtual music concert and Skype calls throughout the day. Our lovely Head Chef, Stephen Oakley, prepared a special menu and baked very tasty cupcakes to mark the day.
The Magic Table
Our home, which provides expert dementia care to residents, has acquired a Magic Table that has allowed our residents of all capacities and mobilities to enjoy sensory experiences without ever leaving their rooms. Residents have shown absolute delight when playing the games and it has been a real joy to see the increased interaction from people.
