Meet the Worplesdon View Care Home Team
Our staff are what hold the home together. Each one of these team members are dedicated to providing high quality care and services to those we support, and ensuring that residents enjoy all aspects of life at our home. See below to meet some of our friendly faces:

Nicola Orwin
General Manager
Hello, I’m Nicola Orwin, and I’m proud to be the General Manager here at Worplesdon View. I bring over 8 years of experience in Health and Social Care to this role, having started my career as a Care Assistant. For the past 6 years, I’ve held management positions within the private healthcare sector and I am delighted to now be a part of Barchester, one of the leading providers in this sector.
I’m passionate about ensuring the highest level of compassionate, person-centred care for our residents. I’m excited to be a part of this wonderful team, working together to continuously raise the bar and provide the best possible care for those we serve.
One of the things I value most is creating a home that feels like a community—a place where residents, families, staff, and friends come together to live fulfilling, positive lives. It’s so important to me that everyone who walks through our doors feels supported and empowered.
Worplesdon View has already established a fantastic reputation, and I’m excited to be part of a team that is so dedicated and committed to maintaining that high standard. Our staff are passionate, experienced, and truly make this home a special place. I’m honoured to lead this incredible team as we continue to deliver outstanding care.

Tanya Hristova
Unit Manager
My name is Tanya and I have been at Barchester for 7 years. I have worked at Worplesdon View Care Home since 2017 as a Deputy Manager. My job is to ensure that every resident is safe, that they have been treated with respect and kindness.

Zlatka Zaprynova
Deputy Manager
Zlatka or Zee has been at Worplesdon View since 2004, started as a registered nurse and worked her way up to become Deputy Manager. Qualified nurse since 1998, very passionate about her work and dedicated to the residents, team and relatives.
Outside of work, Zee likes spending time with her family, friends, and of course her little dog; she enjoys reading and listening to music.

Stephen Oakley
Head Chef
With many years of experience as a Head Chef and 3 decade in the catering industry, Steve brings quality and consistency to Worplesdon View.
Having always been passionate about food since he was a boy, working in his local chip shop and cooking at home, Steve decided to become a professional chef. He completed his City & Guild’s qualifications at the same time as working for Forte Crest Hotels, picking up some amazing skills along the way.
Steve proceeded to work at a number of restaurants, golf clubs, private schools, wedding venues, conference and training venues to gain experience in every area of the catering profession. After several years, he decided to set himself a new challenge to hone his pastry skills with an NVQ Level 3 Professional Cookery - Patisserie.
Steve wanted to give something back to the elderly, so he decided to look at Barchester care homes, specifically Worplesdon View, by using his skills, knowledge and talent to help give the residents something to look forward to each and every day.
Steve wants to make sure the residents are supported through a healthy range of options, while taking their preferences and opinions into account so they can enjoy their food experiences during this latter part of their life.

Donna Graves
Head Housekeeper
I joined last year and have just been promoted. My main priority is to make sure all residents are living in a clean, tidy and safe environment. I enjoy getting to know the residents and always spend time chatting where possible while completing my daily tasks.

Rajesh Gurung
Second Chef
Rajesh is an accomplished chef, who runs the kitchen with precision and pride. His close attention to detail means no resident is ever overlooked. It's people like Rajesh that give Worplesdon View its strong foundation, allowing us to flourish in the care we give.

Tjotjo (Paul) Pheleu
Unit Manager
Paul is part of the glue that keeps Worplesdon View together, his wealth of knowledge astounds us every day and his dedicated care to his residents is to be admired. Paul's calm and competent demeanour makes him a perfect Unit Manager, we know we can always rely on him.

Raju Ahmed
Activities Coordinator
Raju or Raz to everyone I’m a dedicated professional with a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for care and customer service. With experience in hospitality, security, and health and wellness, I bring a unique and compassionate perspective to my role as an Activity Coordinator at Barchester, where I’ve proudly worked for the past three years. Earlier in my career, I ran my own pub, developing strong customer service and community engagement skills. I later worked in railway security, focusing on public safety, before moving to Cygnet as an Activity Specialist, supporting individuals with mental health needs. As a qualified Personal Trainer with a solid understanding of anatomy and biology, I take a holistic approach to wellbeing. I design engaging, personalised activity programmes that help residents stay active, stimulated, and joyful. I love what I do, and I’m driven every day by the opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Mark Silcock
Maintenance Manager
My name is Mark and I bring my skills as a school caretaker to Worplesdon View with me. I am the Maintenance Manager and I am responsible for the upkeep and safety of the building.
What I enjoy most about this role is helping residents settle into their rooms and personalising them. When possible, I like to help out the activities team and join in with the residents.

Catalin Gherghel
Second Chef
Catalin is an indispensable member of our team, his creativity in the kitchen means our residents can always be sure of a tasty and nutritious meal; and his birthday cakes are very popular too!
