Activities at Worplesdon View Care Home

Activities at Worplesdon View

The activities team at Worplesdon View organise and run activities and events for large groups, small groups and individual residents. We include relatives, volunteers and the remaining staff whenever possible and encourage choice and participation from everyone we support. Our programme is planned in advance and is is designed provide tailored, meaningful activities for residents to participate in that will stimulate all senses, whist encouraging mental and physical well-being. We have an activity plan for all residents, and of course, this changes with the needs of each person to keep it up-to-date and useful. Worplesdon View is a fun and dynamic place to live and work, and the secret to this is that everyone is encouraged to see activities as part of their role in the home so that residents are happy and always have something to do.

Life at Worplesdon View Care Home

Alzheimer's Fundraiser

Our residents love to get involved in charity work within the community and to raise funds, so the residents have created beautiful cupcakes to share with family and friends for a donation in order to help support those affected by dementia. All the funds raised by families and residents will be going to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Yoga is Back!

After a long period of time without yoga, the residents were thrilled to have a visit from Angie, our yoga instructor. The sun was shining, so the residents were able to stretch their muscles and joints outside in the garden and learn some new techniques and exercises that originated firstly in Asia.

National Beer Day

To celebrate the National Beer Day, residents at Worplesdon View had a visit from the local Hogs Back Brewery. The residents got to enjoy mini tastings of 3 different varieties of locally made beer and apple ciders. The residents were also intrigued to learn how the beer was made and had an opportunity to ask any questions they had to the experts.

Budding Artists

Residents took part in learning and exploring the techniques of arts of Vincent Van Gogh. Firstly, we have learned about the life of Vincent Van Gogh and his style of art. Then the residents were able to copy and try to recreate one of his most famous art pieces.

VE Day Celebrations

Residents at Worplesdon View have marked and celebrated the 76th anniversary of VE Day by creating and laying a wreath to remember this special day. The residents have remembered the past and shared the celebrations they have had on VE Day themselves.
