Activities at Worplesdon View Care Home

Activities at Worplesdon View

The activities team at Worplesdon View organise and run activities and events for large groups, small groups and individual residents. We include relatives, volunteers and the remaining staff whenever possible and encourage choice and participation from everyone we support. Our programme is planned in advance and is is designed provide tailored, meaningful activities for residents to participate in that will stimulate all senses, whist encouraging mental and physical well-being. We have an activity plan for all residents, and of course, this changes with the needs of each person to keep it up-to-date and useful. Worplesdon View is a fun and dynamic place to live and work, and the secret to this is that everyone is encouraged to see activities as part of their role in the home so that residents are happy and always have something to do.

Life at Worplesdon View Care Home

Summer Fair

We had the most amazing Summer Fair at Worplesdon View, with lots of family, friends and local community visitors making the most of the activities and the most beautiful sunshine in September.

We had some generous tombola and raffle prizes from family and local businesses. We all enjoyed the Birds of Prey, gift/beauty stalls by local businesses and the amazing ice cream by Scott. There was live singing by Carol, bouncy castle for the children and the BBQ was thoroughly enjoyed and kept our kitchen team busy.

Animal Encounters

Residents thoroughly enjoyed a busy afternoon with a visit from ZooLab, learning about the different animals and getting a chance to see them up close and personal. It was so lovely to touch and see these animals and helped the residents with their mental well-being and creating a positive impact. Residents were amazed, inspired and educated through this amazing animal encounter.

Out & About

Residents at Worplesdon View are always out and about in their local area. This month the residents have visited and explored Squires Garden Centre, located in Goldsworth Park, Woking. After exploring handmade statues, pots and flowers, the residents chose their favourite drinks and cakes to relax in a beautiful and peaceful environment.

Potting Plants

Blessed with the week of great weather, the residents have been updating the look of our patio with a selection of new and different varieties of flowers. We even had some bees visiting while the planting was in progress which means they must of smelled brilliant!

Woking Lightbox

Residents enjoyed their trip out to The Lightbox Gallery and Museum in Woking where we admired and learnt about the history of Brookwood Hospital. It was a very interesting trip out and all residents had a nice time while also enjoying a drink and some cake.

We would highly recommend taking some time to visit this lovely gallery and museum in Woking.

Welcome Back Ukulele Singers!

Our long awaited Ukulele singers have been back with us to entertain the residents at Worplesdon View. The residents were able to sing and listen to the songs of their childhood which brought back great memories and stories to be shared.
