Activities at Waterside Court Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Waterside Court Care Home

Home-made wreaths

Residents have enjoyed a variety of activities this month, most of which are in the spirit of welcoming Christmas! One of the activities was Christmas Wreath making. Residents put their creative skills to the test as they exercised their motor skills and cut, sewed, glued and wove their Christmas Wreaths together. Have a look at our Facebook page to see the finished product! @BarchesterWatersideCourt

Happy Birthday Nell!

It was a party weekend for us at Waterside Court! Nell celebrated her birthday with us over the weekend and was so happy to see the home-made cake that she cried with happiness. Nell enjoyed her birthday cake with her friends over her favourite drink...a cup of tea!

Happy Birthday Rosemary!

It was our very own Rosemary's birthday this weekend and staff and residents alike gathered around to help make her day special.

Rosemary started the day with a delicious, home-cooked breakfast and was then treated to a home-baked birthday cake before being taken out by her lovely family.

Rocking around the Christmas Tree!

A huge thank you to the fabulous Julie Hunt for a wonderful morning, filled with fantastic songs and lots of dancing! Residents had an amazing time and we certainly got into the Christmas spirit!

Julie started the show by singing some Christmas classics to get residents into the swing of things. Julie donned a festive outfit and headset and performed in our festive red lounge, complete with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

Residents have been busy preparing for the festive season by making Christmas wreaths, Christingles, making paper chains and even baking home-made mince pies.

Christmas at Blenheim Palace!

What a fabulous day out! A huge thank you to Blenheim Palace for organising a wonderful day for our residents to enjoy. Residents were taken out in our minibus for an amazing "Christmas at Blenheim" tour, which was then followed by some delicious tea and cake!

We were delighted to have been part of a "Barchester convoy", where sister homes in the area also joined us to admire the incredible array of decorations and lights on display.

Decking the Halls!

We're well on our way into December, enjoying each day as we Countdown to Christmas!

Residents have been busy recently preparing for Christmas by decorating trees around the home and creating Christingles. We have lots more planned for the festive season so watch this space and feel free to like us on Facebook for more updates! @BarchesterWatersideCourt
