Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Life at The Warren Care Home

Diss Trip

On 11th July, we had a boy’s day out and went to Diss. We went via the scenic route through Great Yarmouth, Haddiscoe, and stopped there for a picnic. We carried on via St. Olaves, Scole, and finally made our way on to Diss. From here, we called at The Crown in the village of Burston, where we all disembarked for a drink before making our way back to The Warren.

Wimbledon Week

10th July was the last week of Wimbledon, so we thought we would celebrate by having a Wimbledon afternoon with a game of tennis; this was initially played between Tracey (General Manager) and Jayne (Administrator), but then residents eventually got involved.

,

Ranworth Trip

On 4th July, we went off again in our faithful minibus, this time to Ranworth Church Tea Rooms, where we had a cup of tea and cake whilst our driver went up the 89 steps of the church tower to take some pictures of the views across Ranworth Broad. Having done this, we then made our way back to The Warren, but stopped on the way at the river on the opposite bank to Horning Ferry to see the geese and swans.

Bobby Entertains

Bobby G. returned to, once again, entertain residents of The Warren. Bobby and his wife, Ann, are always very popular with residents, so much so that they would have them here everyday if they could.

Employee of the Month - June

Employee of the Month - June

The award went to our Head of Maintenance, Nathan Kidd, for his hard work and dedication to the home. Nathan was awarded his certificate by General Manager, Tracey Cumby, and resident, Peggy, who has always been a big fan of Nathan’s.

Elvis is in the building!

The second visit from “ELVIS”  this year took place on Friday evening of the 30th June between the hours of 7pm to 9.30pm. As always this was a great evening of entertainment together with Pizza and Chips not forgetting the raffle of course. We’re already looking forward to his next visit in September.
