Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

The Red Arrows

On 24th August 2017, The Red Arrows visited Norwich Airport. Our fun started when they flew within sight of The Warren on their way into the airport at approximately 10:00 a.m.

The minibus arrived at the back of the airport in time to see them perform a short display for all those who had made the effort to go and see them.

As they were only refuelling at Norwich, they were off again later in the afternoon, returning again at around 6:00 p.m.

Our activities team went down to see them come in and then went round to the helipads at the airport to see them all lined up on the strip in front of the helicopter sheds.

We asked to residents who enjoyed seeing them in the morning if they wanted to witness their amazing display again. Well, the look on their faces when they saw them said it all.

Donut Run

Donut Run

The Warren won the Donut Run from Radio Norwich for 'Workplace of the Day' on Monday 7th August. Danielle, our Deputy Manager, nominated us for all the hard work our staff do every day to make the lives of those we support better.

Summer Fête

After a very unsettled week of weather, we were getting a little worried about our annual Summer Fête, but were fortunately blessed with a lovely dry and sunny afternoon.

It was a very enjoyable and fun day with plenty visitors coming to support us. Entertainment was provided by the ever-popular, Bobby. G., who was joined by some of his many fans.

There were craft stalls, a tombola, a raffle, tea & coffee and, of course, a BBQ and ice cream, which, to everyone’s delight, was served from bone China cups and saucers; and not forgetting our own handmade bunting decorating the marquee and garden.

The day was, as usual, a great success and we are now looking forward to next year. A massive thank you to Joy, the Head of Activities, for without her enthusiasm, this would not have been the fun day that it was.

Trip to Yarmouth & Gorleston

A long-awaited trip to Great Yarmouth and Gorleston took place on the afternoon of 18th July, where we had a ride along the quayside and then stopped up for a much-enjoyed ice cream at Gorleston, near the harbour, before making our homeward journey.
