Activities at Tixover House Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Nicola (Nic) and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Tixover House.

My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities, entertainers and outings. At Tixover House we offer something for everyone, including crafts, games, virtual visits to places of interest around the world, outings in the local area and parties. We also provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need more support. Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meeting we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Tixover House.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones. 'Living life to the full' is my motto, and whatever your ability there is always something new to learn or try.

Flower arranging with a friend

Residents spent time together this weekend chatting while enjoying the views and the sunshine outside at Tixover House and arranging flowers which were kindly donated by the Co-op. The arrangements decorated our communal areas.

Enjoying a walk on a frosty day

We are so lucky to live in this quiet, beautiful part of the world. Residents at Tixover House love wrapping up warm to go for a walk outside and enjoy the views across the fields on a sunny, frosty day.

Relaxation and Pampering

At Tixover House we help residents to feel good, and a little pampering can do that. Activities Coordinator, Mariana, provides hand massages, manicures and nail polishes to the ladies, as well as a nice chat with the radio on in the background. Our gents often like a manicure, too, so their nails look well trimmed.

Church Service

At Tixover House, we have Tixover Church coming in every first Monday of the month to carry out a church service.

100 Hours Outside

At Tixover, we are taking part in the '100 Hours Outside' challenge. We have until the 24th December to complete this challenge. At Tixover, we’re very lucky to have such lovely grounds to walk around.
