Activities at Tixover House Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Nicola (Nic) and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Tixover House.

My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities, entertainers and outings. At Tixover House we offer something for everyone, including crafts, games, virtual visits to places of interest around the world, outings in the local area and parties. We also provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need more support. Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meeting we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Tixover House.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones. 'Living life to the full' is my motto, and whatever your ability there is always something new to learn or try.

Jazz afternoon

At residents' request we enjoyed a Jazz afternoon at Tixover House, with a spot of dancing, too.

Dementia Awareness Week

We enjoyed delicious cakes at Tixover House today, at our coffee morning to raise funds for Dementia UK as this week is Dementia Awareness Week.

Horsing around

Tixover House had some wonderful visitors in the form of horses from Harringworth Manor Stables. We had a lovely dry day so just wrapped up warm to enjoy the spring sunshine and meet our new friends.

Residents at Tixover House were treated to some long-legged visitors when horses from Harringworth Manor Stables came to see them. We all put our coats on and had a great time out in the fresh air getting to know the lovely animals.

Happy 103rd Birthday

Local singer (Steve Carmel) performed a selection of classic hits including Cliff Richard and Bob Dylan. Residents joined in with singing and clapping when local entertainer Steve Carmel joined us to celebrate Joyce’s 103rd birthday. Joyce’s son visited his Mum and joined in with the singing and a glass of wine. Our Chef and kitchen team provided wine, sherry and cake to keep us all happy.

Red Nose Day Fun

At Tixover House we took part in Comic Relief Day by dressing in red, playing games for prizes and enjoying some decorated cakes made by our Chef and kitchen team. We had lots of fun.
