Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Life at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Alderman Knight School Visit

We had a special visit from the Alderman Knight School this Christmas, not only did they sing for residents but they gifted a wonderful hamper full of festive goodies. The afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by all Residents, who could not thank them enough for making the morning one to remember.

Twyning Christmas Parade Visit

The Home had a very special visit from Santa and his Sleigh which was made possible by the Twyning Community Parade volunteers, who brought some festive joy to the Home. There was singing, dancing and smiles all round and Residents got to support their very festive community fund raising efforts.

Traditional Decorating with the Cub Scouts

The 1st Bredon Cubs have been lending a hand to spread some festive cheer at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home by helping residents decorate the Home. The activities team set the challenge to make some festive decorations by hand with residents and together they crafted, trimmed and made some amazing festive paper chains which reached above 10 metres in length.

Elf Day Fun

It was a cold December day and the team pulled out all the stops to support the Alzheimer's Society. Residents enjoyed some fresh cake and a song or two and staff enjoyed dressing up for the occasion.

Tewkesbury Remembrance - Laying a Wreath to Honour Friends , Tewkesbury Fields Care Home Remembrance , Remembrance

Remembrance

Residents had the privilege of attending Tewkesbury Remembrance Parade.  Our Veteran Resident Richard wore his medals with pride and laid a Wreath at the War memorial cross, Tewkesbury. He was so pleased to be able to honour those who have given so much, and represent the Residents at the Home.
Residents and staff thanked all at Tewkesbury Town Council, Royal British Legion and all the Veterans for supporting us in making this very special and meaningful moment to happen for our residents.
