Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Peace Doves at Tewkesbury Abbey

We welcomed Megan from Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury and Sarah from Tewkesbury Nature Reserve who gave our residents a virtual experience of the peace and light project that was held in Tewkesbury Abbey. This was based around thousands of paper doves each decorated with messages of love and peace by the local community. This inspiring display reflected shared aspirations of people across Gloucestershire. For a sensory and tactile activity, Meg and Sarah brought some sensory birds that residents enjoyed getting to know some interesting facts and get involved in the guess the bird sound game.We feel very privileged to be part of such a great community at Tewkesbury Fields.
