Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Celebrating "Style Wednesday" at Cheltenham Races

Style Wednesday, Dress to impress This afternoon we dressed to impress wearing fancy hats and enjoying a delicious afternoon tea prepared by our talented chef whilst we watched the horse racing live from Cheltenham. Many of the residents have a very keen interest in horse racing so this was extra special to watch the racing from our local course. There was such a great atmosphere and we even got a little competitive!

Falls Prevention Talk

Falls prevention talk was another successful event held at Tewkesbury Fields this week. We welcomed family members, residents and members of the community to this informative presentation.

Jess, our Acting Deputy Manager delivered a very interesting talk about the importance of the falls prevention process and how best to avoid incidents. Jess shared very useful information and tips that all found very beneficial.

Thanks Jess for leading this event, sharing some great advice and knowledge with everyone.

Indoor Skittles!

This week we've been up to some challenges and fun.

Playing skittles seems to be one of the residents favourite activities this week at Tewkesbury Fields.
Some had previously played the game and others wanted to enter the challenge for a little bit of fun but also learn about it.

We all had a good morning of laughter and didn't get too competitive.

Gardening In The Sunshine

Gardening in the sunshine Gardening Club was a delight this morning in the sunshine. We planted up some spring planters and built a new bird feeder. These were strategically placed to give the residents residing in our Abbey community prime viewing.

At Tewkesbury Fields we support and encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love whilst also developing new friendships and learning new skills.

Supporting Local Charities

We were delighted to receive a certificate of appreciation from Seren's Wish Charity thanking the home for our continuous support for their amazing charity. Seren's Wish provides help and support to the families and children of Bishops Cleeve, Tewkesbury and beyond. They support everyday essentials alongside their annual toy appeal to make the lives of our community better. The team at Tewkesbury Fields always engage in supporting local charities and we look forward to another successful 2025 supporting this deserving charity.
