Activities at Springvale Court Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Jess Bruford
Hi, My name is Jess and I am Activities Coordinator here at Springvale Court. I am delighted to join the team, joining in December 2023 but I have found my feet with ease. I spend time getting to know all of our residents and this helps me to arrange meaningful activities based on individual likes and interests. I love spending time with our residents, be it chatting one to one, small reminiscing groups or large group activities.
I am looking forward to learning and growing with Barchester and I am always open to any ideas for new and different activities so please stop and chat with me.

Life at Springvale Court Care Home
10 Years of Service
Congratulations to Head Chef, Brenda Earl, who recently received her 10 year Long Service Award. Well done!
Drawing Workshop
What a lovely creative morning it was in Blaydon Library. Residents joined artist Paul Merrick for some inspirational and fun drawing activities. We created ‘blind’ and touch drawings using still life and portraiture as a starting point. We cannot wait to attend similar workshops in the near future.
Zoolab
Residents had a lovely morning with animals from Zoolab. The Animal Ranger, Rob, did a fantastic job introducing different species of reptiles and insects to residents. Everybody got a chance to hold and pat the animals and ask questions about their habitat. We hope to see Zoolab returning to our home soon.
Elvis Visits
The King of Rock 'n' Roll himself stopped by Springvale Court and put on a wonderful performance for residents.
Valentine's Day Preparations
Residents at Springvale have been keeping themselves busy by creating some beautiful decorations in preparation for Valentine's Day.
Christmas Party
Residents were invited to a Christmas party at Springwell Community Hall. They had a lovely time and even received a gift from Santa.
