Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Grindley

Activities Coordinator

Hello My name is Zoe, I have been in the life enrichment team at Southgate Beaumont since December 2021.

I am originally from Liverpool and moved to London in 1997 after being accepted at Mountview Theatre school. After graduating I worked as an actress and accomplished voiceover artist for many years. I also have a vast amount customer service experience, working in many West End Theatres, as Cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.

Zoe has a passion for making strong connections with people and creating lasting memorable experiences.

My role here at Southgate Beaumont is to ensure our residents lives are packed full of enriching and interesting activity. We provide a wide range of both home led and community led activity for all residents as well as personalised and individual hobby and interest focused events. Our programme ranges from cocktail making, to art history talks, exercise sessions as well as fine dining dinner parties catered for by our chefs

I have made lots of lovely new friends at Southgate Beaumont care home and look forward to making many more.

Barchester's 25th Anniversary

We welcomed Deputy Mayor of Enfield, Doris Jiagge, who opened the celebration with a lovely speech and cut the cake for us. There was also a couple at the home celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary and the Deputy Mayor congratulated them as well.

Well done to all the staff who worked so hard and helped to make it an outstanding success.

20 Years of Service

Eva Khana was presented with her 20 years Long Service Award by Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Christine Hamilton. Congratulations and well done, Eva!

Living World Temple Choir

Living World Temple Choir

We were recently joined by the Living World Temple Choir and all of us enjoyed their performance. The children sang some popular gospel songs for us.

A Packed House

A Packed House

We had a packed house at Dr. Banting's lecture about Gerard Lanscroon on Saturday 16th September.

Many residents attended the lecture and enjoyed Dr Banting's unique and engaging style of presentation.

Lanscroon, with a team of itinerant painters, completed the murals in the reception hall in 1723, shortly after James Colebrooke built the house. The mural shows Colebrooke, depicted as Julius Caesar, returning from battle being greeted by his wife (Mrs Colebrooke). Unfortunately, one of the occupiers of the house decided to replace Caesar with a door – a really first class bit of vandalism.

Visitors had the opportunity to have a wander around and take photos and refreshments were kindly provided by Mark and Laura; and of course Jim, in his role as the official photographer, recorded the event.

Middleton House Gardens

Middleton House Gardens

We had a little picnic in Middleton House Gardens, followed by visit to the coffee shop, where we had a cup of tea and Victoria sponge cake.

Another Success at Southgate

Our Summer Garden Party proved to be a huge success. Thank you Iva, Laura, Mark, Steve, Joanna and all staff for helping out; and to all relatives, the community and everyone else who turned up to have fun with us.

The raffle's 1st prize went to Renee and 2nd prize went to Philip. Congratulations to the winners!

All of us enjoyed the sun, tasty food and entertainment.
