Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Grindley

Activities Coordinator

Hello My name is Zoe, I have been in the life enrichment team at Southgate Beaumont since December 2021.

I am originally from Liverpool and moved to London in 1997 after being accepted at Mountview Theatre school. After graduating I worked as an actress and accomplished voiceover artist for many years. I also have a vast amount customer service experience, working in many West End Theatres, as Cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.

Zoe has a passion for making strong connections with people and creating lasting memorable experiences.

My role here at Southgate Beaumont is to ensure our residents lives are packed full of enriching and interesting activity. We provide a wide range of both home led and community led activity for all residents as well as personalised and individual hobby and interest focused events. Our programme ranges from cocktail making, to art history talks, exercise sessions as well as fine dining dinner parties catered for by our chefs

I have made lots of lovely new friends at Southgate Beaumont care home and look forward to making many more.

Life at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Teddy Bear's Picnic

Teddy Bear's Picnic

We had a teddy bear's picnic in the garden. It was nice to feel like a child again. Thank you, June, for the idea and the bears for hugging and eating!

Care Home Open Day

Care Home Open Day

Here at Southgate Beaumont, we had one of our music therapists come in to entertain residents with his wonderful voice and music from his piano. We also had a quiz that residents take part in every Friday afternoon with some light refreshments.

Group Outing

Group Outing

We had a group outing to The Crown pub on the River Lee at Broxbourne. All residents had a lovely time and want to thank Laura, Iva and Mark for taking them. Also, thank you, Jim, for driving everyone there.

We had a St. George's Day celebration with a lot of food and drinks to help us to see the dragons, but they didn’t arrive.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day with classical music performed by London Single Reeds Orchestra, including some of our favourite pieces, such as 'Soldier, Soldier', 'Carnival of the Animals' and 'Putting on the Ritz'.

A very big thanks to all the musicians who came and performed on the day.
