Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Grindley

Activities Coordinator

Hello My name is Zoe, I have been in the life enrichment team at Southgate Beaumont since December 2021.

I am originally from Liverpool and moved to London in 1997 after being accepted at Mountview Theatre school. After graduating I worked as an actress and accomplished voiceover artist for many years. I also have a vast amount customer service experience, working in many West End Theatres, as Cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.

Zoe has a passion for making strong connections with people and creating lasting memorable experiences.

My role here at Southgate Beaumont is to ensure our residents lives are packed full of enriching and interesting activity. We provide a wide range of both home led and community led activity for all residents as well as personalised and individual hobby and interest focused events. Our programme ranges from cocktail making, to art history talks, exercise sessions as well as fine dining dinner parties catered for by our chefs

I have made lots of lovely new friends at Southgate Beaumont care home and look forward to making many more.

We set up a Christmas-themed Monte Carlo casino. We like gambling because our mums said not to. Resident, Muriel, won £120,000 in chips; unfortunately, they are not accepted in shops or pubs.

Our Christmas party was amazing

We had canapés, mulled wine, mince pies, hampers, a tombola and a blind bid. Thanks to Joanna, Maria and Eva for preparing all of the delicious food. Thanks to Iva, Laura and Mark for organising this event as well.

Cinderella and her ugly sisters at Southgate Beaumont

Cinderella and her ugly sisters at Southgate Beaumont

This year our residents wrote and performed their own version on Cinderella.

Lyn wrote the panto, she casted the residents and even designed and made the costumes with some help from Mark our amazing volunteer, Iva and Laura our activity team and some of our other residents.

Our friends and family came to see the spectacle and what it show it was.

Well done everyone !!

Garden Party 2016

Garden Party 2016

Another amazing garden party this year, we had lovely food and refreshments, amazing entertainment and a gorgeous sunny day. A great turn out from our residents and their friends and family a great day was had by all.

A note from our residents

TO ALL STAFF AT SOUTHGATE BEAUMONT

We would like to say how much we enjoyed the Garden Party. It was the hard work of all the staff at the Beaumont who made the day so enjoyable.

The carers who go so many of our community outside into the fun with smiles on their faces then back in again when the party was over and they were all still smiling and so patient. How do they do it?

The work of all the kitchen staff and crew. Working behind the scenes providing the food. Making sure everyone had something to eat and drink. Working right to the end clearing up the garden. Now that was hard work.

We have to mention Steve and all his work. Thank goodness he did not leave us who would have cooked the burgers!!! There he was at the end still working after hours over the hot barbeque.

Also Samantha and her belly dancers. What a colourful sight they were. I bet we are the only care home in the whole of England that has belly dancers at a garden party.

Our reception girls were out there as well working hard. Smiling (as they always do) and looking after people (as they always do)

Finally Laura and Mark for their tireless work throughout the day. Helping Steve set out the garden ready for the event and all the clearing up at the end. What would we do without Mark?

YOU ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE THANK YOU
