Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Grindley

Activities Coordinator

Hello My name is Zoe, I have been in the life enrichment team at Southgate Beaumont since December 2021.

I am originally from Liverpool and moved to London in 1997 after being accepted at Mountview Theatre school. After graduating I worked as an actress and accomplished voiceover artist for many years. I also have a vast amount customer service experience, working in many West End Theatres, as Cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.

Zoe has a passion for making strong connections with people and creating lasting memorable experiences.

My role here at Southgate Beaumont is to ensure our residents lives are packed full of enriching and interesting activity. We provide a wide range of both home led and community led activity for all residents as well as personalised and individual hobby and interest focused events. Our programme ranges from cocktail making, to art history talks, exercise sessions as well as fine dining dinner parties catered for by our chefs

I have made lots of lovely new friends at Southgate Beaumont care home and look forward to making many more.

Life at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Ladies Who Latte

Ladies Who Latte

We have invited this group of local lady solicitors—'Ladies Who Latte'—to come and use one of our rooms for their meetings, as they have clients who can benefit from our facilities.

They are a very active group that has been in Southgate for 3 years, and is growing in numbers.

Art & Coffee Morning

Art & Coffee Morning

We hosted an art lecture with Dr Banting on cross-channel impressionism, looking specifically at the paintings of Edgar Degas and Whistler & Walter Sickert. 46 people from the community, along with our residents, attended and enjoyed the lecture.

Next month, we are going on a journey into the café and cabarets of the late 19th century Montmartre through the eyes of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and his friends.

Violin Concert

We were joined by Lisa Izume, a famous violist who has performed all over the world. Resident loved her performance very much!

,

Mother's Day Magic

It was a packed house for Mother's Day! Pupils from the Claudio Forcado Violin & Cello School joined us to put on a wonderful performance for residents. The show went on for an hour and a half and we want to say a big thank you to all the kids and their teachers for such a wonderful time.

Intergenerational Fun

Here at Southgate Beaumont, we had a visit from the Walkers School. It was lovely to see how generations integrate and enjoyed spending time together reading and playing piano. They visit us every month and residents always look forward to meeting them.

A Double Celebration

We celebrated Valentine's Day and Les' birthday with a heart-shaped cake made freshly by our Head Chef, Brian. We served champagne, wine, gin & tonic and beer – and residents enjoyed a singalong too.
