Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Kirstie Cobb
I joined Barchester as a carer in 2019, and quickly realised I had a passion for helping people live their best lives. In June 2022 after a move to Exmouth, I joined the team Raleigh Manor as a carer and enjoyed helping with the activities. When the role of Activities Coordinator became available, I jumped at the chance to combine my care background with my desire to truly enrich the lives of the residents in my care.

Low Vision No Problem for our Connect 4 Champion
When it comes to getting involved, nothing gets in Vi's way. We had garden games this weekend and Vi who is legally blind but a very small amount of vision was able to engage in a game of Connect 4 with Jill. With the contrast of the discs and by using her hands to feel where the gaps were, she managed to win two games in a row. A Connect 4 champion, no less.
Employee of the Month Awarded for August
We were all delighted to see this month's Employee of the Month award go to someone who really does go above and beyond for the residents here at Raleigh Manor. Congratulations Karien Edgecombe, we are so lucky to have you here working with and for us. It is so very much appreciated.
Vi's Special Request
Vi is on her second short stay with us. When asked what she loves most about Raleigh Manor, she said the friendly, caring atmosphere. All the staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. And as a big animal lover, she was delighted when we organised Rona to come for a cuddle before she went home.
Movement to Music
Every Monday residents look forward to their music to movement with some light exercise to music this is very good for our residents who are in wheel chairs to help relax their body.
Mayor Supports Birthday Fund Raiser
Attendees of Raleigh Manor care home’s fete on Thursday August 4 were delighted to welcome Steve Gazzard, Mayor of Exmouth, along with his partner Diane Love and the town cryer Roger Bourgein. The fete was a celebration of Raleigh Manor’s first birthday combined with an event to raise much needed funds for local charity, the Devon Freewheelers. Community, staff and residents all came out on a beautiful sunny afternoon to enjoy great food, games, crafts and raffles.
Mayor Steve Gazzard spoke to the crowd, commenting: “It was really important for me to attend the Raleigh Manor summer fete. I have seen Raleigh Manor progress from the development stages and it is a pleasure to see the wonderful service it is now delivering to our community.
